ODU Master Plan
Starting off at 30K will ensure continued sell outs and create a demand. A measured approach is the best approach. I'm excited and pleased with the leadership ODU officials have shown.

Could we expect something like this on the Powatan Footprint??

Lets hope the resident roach population in that complex don't stay for the new stadium.

Imagine trying to bury a crucial putt right by the stadium and as your putter is about to strike the golf ball, Heinicke hits Melvin Vaughn on a 74 yard touchdown.

N/M, you would already be in the stadium.

This is awesome. Great location! 30,000 seems like a great number too.

Can expand to 45k if needed though according to article

Yep, 45K or more. My only concern going forward with this is vehicular access, and traffic congestion concerns. I am sure that the study addressed those concerns and it will work wonderfully. The major thought I walked away with from what was said at the coaches caravan is that it is going to be a first rate facility that will make us all proud. I have no problem starting with a 30K showpiece stadium, as long as there is room to expand to 45K plus. COGS 01-donnankungfu01-donnankungfu03-2thumbsupCOGS

I envision this as an absolute show place. Restaurants, concessions, Hall of Fame and a Legends Gallery for all ODU Sport Greats. Elevators, Luxury suits, comfortable seating for all, handicap assessable, yes better seats....LOL . A Stadium of the future that will be the envy of many. Expandable to 45k and possibly larger as the program grows. I'm excited for ODU. Great news for Monarch Nation. We just have to be patient. But the wait will be worth the pride we will all share when this state of the art stadium is completed.

Aim High

30,000 is way to low. They should start at around 40,000 with expansion potential to 55-60,000. I was afraid they'd think small, and they have.

Build a 60,000 seat stadium. Then you'll be selling $4 tickets on stubhub like Vanderbilt. 30,000 is the right move initially.

New stadium, on campus. I don't think we could have hoped for anything better. 30K expandable to 45K is ok, but personally, I would rather have seen 35K expandable to 50K. That said, I'm more than happy with what they came up with.

30000 seater where Powhatan apts is. Open for 2017 season. Expandable to 45000. Hate to lose the game day building and wish it could be expanded to 60000, but otherwise its good.

I always believed that Ainslie could be "re-purposed" into something type of use... very good outcome!

I am totally ok and excited about this news. Would have rather seen 32-35. But I think given the lower sales across the board tho it makes sense. As I've said before if it were my business I'd rather have the demand than the flashy size number to tout. I would also want to keep the sellout streak alive and healthy.

It would be the perfect start to an indoor practice facility.

"The stadium would be designed so that it could be expanded to 45 thousand or more seats, sources said."

Remember, these aren't the final plans, it's very possible when this actually happens we'll get a bit more. 30 expanded to 45 could mean 33 expanded to 48. Exciting times.

I dealt with a serious infestation of german cockroaches from the previous residents, last year. Laid down sticky paper, and in the span of 2 days, I trapped hundreds of the buggers.

I won, though. I beat them. Go me.
