WVU won more games than you guys did last year but we are "fighting for our lives"? So what does that say about the Uconn football program?

The WVU bashing on this board is hilarious considering we have a winning record against almost every team's fans that posts on this board. Pitt, Cuse and VT I can understand but f'n ECU, UL,Uconn and Marshall? Gimme a f'n break.

I just posted a similar message on this board; my question is this:

What does ECU gain from playing WVU in Morgantown? I would answer NOTHING. If anything, this should be at worst a 3-1-1 series with WVU coming to Greenville 3 times for every 1 trip to Morgantown. We can play one game at a neutral site of our choice.

(1) Greenville may not be Chicago but at least we treat opposing team's fans with respect (all schools will have at least a small percentage of a-holes but WVs percentage is way up there). Plus, we have the beach and NC in general to sell to visiting fans. Other than the odd attraction of observing redneck/hillbilly/rapists moonshiners in their natural habitat, WV offers nothing. I guess peperoni roles count for something... but anyone can make those at home.
(2) In general, we don't recruit in that area. On the other hand, WV recruits this area heavily.
(3) We do not have many alumni in that area. WV has a ton of alumni and fans in NC.
(4) We can get regional teams to play us. As for WV, where has the Pitt game gone? How often are you able to play UNC and/or NCSU? Hell, VPI does not even want to play you anymore. It will not be too long before MD feels the same way.

Go schedule more games against James Madison in DC. Let's see how long that works out for y'all. Maybe you can get a game against Towsen State while you're there...

1. Have you even been to a game in Morgantown? I doubt very seriously our fans disrespected you because quite frankly we don't give two flying craps about ECU and usually beat the ever loving **** out of you, especially at home.

You guys are legends in your own mind because you can fill up 40k seats in Conf USA. Other than that what exactly does your program have going for it? WVU is one of the winningest programs in college football and you wonder what your bush league program gains by playing us???

You must not want home and homes with Ohio State either due to their lack of beaches...

2.WVU does not recruit middle of nowhere NC heavily.

3. This is true we have tons of fans in NC and I have seen only handful of ECU fans in WV. This may be due to ECU being the 4th most popular school in NC which leads to them lacking any real fanbase outside of Greenville.

4. WVU doesn't need to play ECU. The only reason we signed the current series with you is because our last AD was an idiot and wanted to piss Marshall off.

WVU has no trouble getting regional teams to play us and just recently signed a series with VT and we are currently negotiating a series with PSU. Maryland will soon be off our schedule due to their move to the B1G but their fans still consider us to be their biggest football rival.

WVU has no real history with the other NC programs so why would we go out of our way to try to play them?

5. WVU got more money for playing JMU in DC than what your TV rights pay you in the AAC. 03-lmfao

Not really sure why mods allow threads like this to exist considering they get their panties in a wad about lesser infractions. Guess since the thread is bashing WVU it's all good.

1. Wrong. I went to MoTown once and was followed and verbally assaulted by a few of your drunken students. They backed once we turned around and stared them down... my friend looks like a Hell's Angel who could kill you with his bare hands. We were then apologized to by a WVU fan who was walking up when he saw it occurring. That night, I met a girl in Bridgeport whom I wound up dating for a long while and am still friends with. Even she will admit that much of your fanbase..., well... sucks.

2. The last time I checked, being 77 miles east of Raleigh, 90 miles north of Wilmington and 100 miles south of Norfolk is not "the middle of nowhere" and yes, we do get statewide coverage with the exception of the far western areas of the NC. This area of the state is growing and it's not as rural as you may think. It's definitely not as rural as parts of WV and VA are.

Yes, you do recruit in our area. Look at your offer list during over the past 20 years.

3. Whatever. I would argue that you are correct if you were talking about basketball (we would probably be 5th behind WFU) but 4th in football? Really? Most of our fans drive more than 85 miles one way to attend home games; this was proven (by polling) when I was in school. To say that ECU fan's only reside in Greenville shows how ignorant you are about ECU and the state of NC.

4. The reason that you don't have much history with the schools in NC is mostly due to the reputation that your fanbase has. Don't believe me? Ask others on this board how they feel about your fans. Troll one of the NCSU or UNC boards...

5. Great! See how the perception of your program declines after you take that route in the future.

Pretty ironic. There's absolutely ZERO reason to put this kind of stupid **** in a post and generalize an entire state b/c of a ******* football coach's comments. You're more of an embarrassment than Holgerson was with his statements.

You deserve getting blasted on here for this crap.

And yet, unless we you can beat us in a bowl game, f'n Louisville will always be the current owner of the Braxton Trophy... a trophy f'n WVU has refused to surrender despite losing to f'n Louisville, so I guess there's your f'n break.
