RE: Thorpe
Despite everything that happened with him at JMU, I'm pretty glad he found somewhere else to play his last year if that's what he wanted to do. I won't miss him this year from a football perspective (as great of an athlete as he was, he just never learned to make the right reads in the scheme and that was his undoing as much as his passing), but back when he first applied for the 6th year, sure seemed like his expectation of another year as QB1 of a national contender was reasonable and then it all fell apart last year.

JT should have been moved to TB his Fr year. MM's continued man-love for JT at QB hurt JMU each and every year JT was called on to lead the O.

Good luck to him. I hope he has a great 6th year. With JT and JA, Coach Scott shouldn't lose a game. Those 2 can carry the load for that team. Score 50 plus a game and defense won't matter.

I thank JT for the wins he gutted out, I still remember him against Towson last year doing work. He's a fellow alum so he'll always be my brother. Hope he does well at VSU.

JT got worse every year he was at JMU. Good Riddance.

While they are giving JT his weekly drug test, they might also want to give Latrel Scott a breathalizer. 2 DUIs for that guy was someone JMU should have never brought on the staff.

I know Thorpe had his issues at JMU, but there isn't any reason to bash on him when he isn't even around anymore. Wish him the best.

While I agree that JT's play at QB did not improve significantly over his time at JMU, and his injuries and poor decisions with MJ (especially the latter) made things even harder, i would never EVER say or wish JT "good riddance."

JT is a JMU alum, who won many a game for the Dukes (I'm thinking of the last Liberty game in particular) and deserves our respect. I wish JT well and all the luck in the world as he moves forward in life.

It is very clear that Mickey was not alone in his Man-Crush on JT. I would say he lost more games with horrible play than he won with above average play at JMU.

All he ever was and will be is an athlete playing QB, he is NOT a QB. He was a very large part of 4 very mediocre years of JMU football.

Still those are no reasons to bash JT by wishing him "good riddance"...JT will forever be a JMU alum, and as such is deserving of all the good will and positive recognition that entails.

If not for failed drug tests, eratic behavior, and childish displays that would not be the case.

Is it really as "uncalled for as it could be?" It was just the first thought that came into my head. Team leader/captain couldn't give up the pot? Wasn't just an isolated incident... Team depended on him. I am happy to not have him back for sixth year. Not necessarily want to see bad things happen to him at VSU, but I was just trying to be a bit funny.
