There will be so much red in the stadium on game days it won't matter that the CPC looks like a barn.

I think it looks great, and it does add a little bit of an enclosed feel to the stadium.

Bunch of whiners around here, I think it looks awesome. Nothing is more beautiful than Huskie Stadium! Some of you negative people may not remember broken wooden bleachers that used to grace the north end of the stadium. I think it flows together pretty too.

I like that the CPC encloses the north end somewhat. Maybe if it was red and black instead of red and white it would look less like a barn. I think it looks okay and we'll get used to it.

Honestly, I think it goes will with the Yordan center...of course brick would be ideal, but in lieu of that this is probably the best we could have gone with...black would have just looked strange

Roof needed to be white so that heating and cooling would be balanced. Based on that fact, I think the color scheme is fine. I also like the way it totally blocks in the North end of the field. SOuth end and press box now.

RE: 7/27 - Pics from DeKalbia
both look fine IMHO.

Remember where NIU was a decade ago and where the program and facilities are today.

Apparently a few posters disregard the past and have visions of grandeur way beyond what the NIU pocketbook allows...

Yes there is potential for more growth and improvements and the process takes time and money to get to another level.

Dialogue here on occasions remind me somewhat of the simplistic TV commercial (is it AT&T or DISH ..or ?) with adult talking with a few preschoolers in a circle and asking if more or bigger is better.

thanx and absolutely thrilled with the foto of dear old gilbert- my home away from home my freshmen year in 1962. It was the pits even back then.
Ahhh .... the many fond memories while confined in there... a real character builder for those who survived it. It's best feature was on cold rainy days of football played on Glidden Field across the street you could warm up at halftime and easily return into the game and watch Bork and company building the team on its way to a national title.

Cannot wait to tour insides....

+1. I always look for the stadium while I'm driving on Annie Glidden towards town and think "Go Huskies".

Me, too. And each time I come to DeKalb is like a mini vacation for my family and me: Huskie game, eating, shopping, driving through the area, etc. During basketball season, when there are men's and women's games on both weekend days, we stay overnight - so it's even more like a little vacation.

When I'm flying down 88, I try to look for the campus and the scene after the Maryland victory comes to mind.

based on the pictures of the CPC, I have to think that the outside walls are not done yet, aesthetically. Probably missing NIU logos and such.

Have to agree on this one, lots better looking at fans across than a reminder of my small high school seats...If some want a more crowded feel, then maybe paint some fans on the walls
..and while we're at it, lets settle on a fan color for game day.. is it red? black? take a look at a Nebraska game (I've been to those), a sea of red...
