According to insiders on the UofL board Coach Strong has accepted Michael Dyer's transfer request. The 2011 BCS NCG MVP is eligible immediately and has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
as much as i like to see louisville do well, i really cant stand teams that make these kind of moves, taking players that other teams didnt want because they were problem cases
he got kicked out of auburn (which is pretty hard to do) for undisclosed violations*. he got kicked out of arkansas state for going 96 mph, with gun + drugs found in his car. (in other words the bad habits continued)
*it has been reported that this was for multiple failed drug tests. another big issue during his time at AU was that it was his gun used in a robbery that led to the arrest of four auburn players.
as far as i can tell only louisville has shown serious interest.......
how does any of this sound over sensationalized?

I'm a little more wary than many of my fellow Card fans (though I've seen no official confirmation yet that this is true): though I love his talent, I have no reason to trust him.
Louisville fans hope that Coach Strong understands his past and believes that he can do well in the future. But I'm sure everybody's fan base would say the same thing about a trusted head coach. But Charlie Strong's track record is quite good, and I hope that no one - inside or outside the Louisville fan base - doubts the coach's integrity: If Dyer's coming, it's because he and Strong have an understanding of what is and isn't acceptable; if he messes up, he's gone.

These are young kids and they deserve a second chance for being stupid I guess. If he screws up at LouisvIlle then he has no excuses again. We will see...

this is technically his 3rd chance (even though he was given multiple chances at auburn before they finally got rid of him)
Not sure about this one, but if the coaching staff thinks it can work then we shall see. I honestly thought he would be headed to USF or Western Kentucky, but if CCS and staff can see the potential then there's a chance of something good here. I too as a Card fan am some what skeptical, but if true welcome aboard Mr. Dyer and Go Cards!!!

Sorry UL fans, but if this is true, it speaks more to the character of Charlie Strong than it does of the talented idiot that Strong is looking to bring onto his team. If UL does pull this off then it diminishes my respect for Strong.

The "weed" issue doesn't bother me...it the gun issue with him...that why I am in the no camp.
Was he not the DC during the days of Urban Meyer at UF. With all the questions about Urban's tenure at UF, who knows what type of coach he may turn out to be.
The word "better" should be changed to "deeper" IMO!
I'm going to trust Coach Strong and if he takes the kid's word (as per the USA Today link) and the word of coach Hill, then I'm good with it. I don't think this is official in any way and I understand why USF fans are interested. Strong is more than just about football. He is about leading these kids to a better life outside of football. Darius Ashley is a great example. Kid is solid!
No offense to Louisville, but this kid will never graduate. He'll stick around till his 21st birthday, then declare for the draft, or the supplemental draft. He'll get a shot at an NFL camp, maybe, but he hasn't shown any ability to stick with the rules. Another Maurice Clarrett IMO. Hope I'm wrong, but I think I'm pretty close on this one.

im thinking the same thing. my biggest concern with this guy is that this will be his 4th campus in like two & half years. pretty much hopping around schools right now

He also Coached under Lou Holtz...but with Florida the problems there just might run deeper...Muschamp has issues with his current players like Morrison..,worlds dumbest arrest & his 2nd arrest in 4 Weeks...Muschamp just suspended him for 2 Games...

We'll see if Muschamp is serious or not. If he sits this knucklehead out on weeks that they are playing FCS schools, you'll know he's just like Meyers. If not, then maybe he's really interested in cleaning up that program. Personally I think they are a team of thugs. /shrug
