What were "the team that brought you Pirates of the Caribbean" thinking? It was pathetic to watch Depp to sink to such levels, and 'Arm n Hammer' ain't no Lone Ranger.

When it comes to viewing exciting episodes of the thrilling days of yesteryear, I'll take Clayton Moore, Jay Silverheels and a thorough and frequent rendition of the William Tell Overture any day over seeing a dumb and dumbered down, out of touch with mainstream attempt by Verbinski. Hmmm. White film speak with forked tongue, Kemo Sabe.

RE: Tonto & Tonto-er
I have not seen the new film, but as a guy who grew up on the Lone Ranger radio programs, had a subscription to Lone Ranger comic books, then saw the TV version as a teenager, I would have a hard time with Johnny Depp as Tonto, I'm sure.

After the movie did you ask yourself "Who was that masked man?".

Loved the movie and loved how they treated the classic, with a new perspective without trashing it.

Guess opinions are different. Used to have a full sized Lone Ranger figure with Silver. Gave it to my nephew. Saw one sell on ebay for over $300... 03-hissyfit

RE: Tonto & Tonto-er
I was underwhelmed by the movie. Wish I had waited to see it on HBO or something.

Critics are saying it is a bomb...they are right.

Everybody has a six gun revolver...and nobody ever runs out of bullets...
I lost count of how many people were shot and killed in the movie...and this is a Disney movie. Not a movie for young kids....

Would you describe any of the "Pirates" movies are young kid friendly or Transformers for that matter.

I don't think it was a bomb at all. While it is not like the tv show some grew up on, that would not have translated well onto the big screen either. I went with my 24 year old niece and we both really liked it. Guess it is a matter of opinion.

Thank you.

I'm sure that was obvious to anyone who knows anything about figurines.

Appreciate you being gentle while I was showing my ignorance. I just couldn't imagine having an entire room dedicated to full sized Silver.

"Hmmmm. Why Verbinski have Silver eat scorpion off face of mask man?"

"Bruckheimer thought it was funny?"

I had several of those 12" figures. Had lone ranger and silver. (you could move all silver's joints in his legs. pretty awesome till they broke)

Had six million dollar man too. You could open the panel on one arm and roll back the skin to reveal the gadgetry on the other.

also had several of the star wars 12" figures. c3p0, luke and vader. vader was the coolest!

Mine was Tonto's response to a phrase...

"Don't ever do that again!!"

Died laughing in the theater.

"So, white man think Lone Ranger funny, now. Laugh butt off, Kemo Sabe."

"It's post modernity's absence of meaning showing up, Tonto. Just keep riding. Hi-Yo, Silver! Away!"

"New Tonto say never do that, again, Kemo Sabe."

"Tell him to go back to the Caribbean, and take Verbinski with him, Tonto."

"Hmmm. Seem Box Office make him eat crow."

My desire to ride horses was born with that show. Heck, I wanted to BE the Lone Ranger. I spent about five years galloping about my back yard pretending to be riding Silver. Good Vs. Evil. What an impression the 60's shows of our youth made on some of us!
