Considering one of the guys that blogged for the Big East does the ND blog that's probably a good place to move it. Of course I really do love the #OccupyStanford movement and #OccupyNotreDame just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Actively try and devalue it? How?

If it's about the lack of a beat writer, they simply aren't spending money on internet content they don't expect a significant return from. AKA business decision.

Ironic post by a Baylor fan.

I'm sure thats thier hope and plan. Maybe you guys can make a difference. If so you will of opened the door for other confrences to do it as well and that would be a good thing.

Well we are the only ones with a deal with ESPN, along with MWC to a lesser extent. So I'm not sure the other conferences have a case. Plead with Fox

O contrer, the MAC has a deal with ESPN also

Exactly, I mean do you think that every AAC fan is in on the #OccupyStanford movement? That's probably 1% or less of all the AAC fan bases.

Then mount your own offensive against ESPN. I think ESPN believed there weren't enough AAC fans that would notice or care. They were wrong. Now whether it changes things or not is debatable, but they have taken notice and so has the leadership of the AAC. Aresco acknowledged it today on Twitter, President Ono of Cincy actually has tweeted a few times in support of #OccupyStanford, and Awful Announcing even had a piece about it. This kind of stuff does make a difference, even if it's only a small one.

The walmart fans are clicking on the articles for top 25 teams, though. Stanford has a blog because they've been a top 25 team. It will disappear when they go back into the mediocrity part of their cycle.

Stanford has a blog for reasons completely unknown to anyone. Just out of curiosity I went back a ways to see how many comments that blog was getting prior to the takeover, and there wasn't an article in June that had over 15 comments aside from the 2 that were taken over. No one looks at that thing. The AAC/Big East blog had an infinitely greatly level of traffic, so it has nothing to do with anyone clicking on the Stanford blog, because almost no one did.

That's quite the embellishment about a league that is, essentially, a CUSA redux.

The only thing that has changed with ECU, UCF, et. al. is the patch on the jersey and nothing else.

What? We have the biggest fanbases. I dont see how that is even an opinion. Its a fact.

No, you have some of the biggest fanbases. You also have several teams that don't have much of a base at all. The three privates and Temple come to mind.

There are several teams in the MWC and CUSA (Boise St, SDSU, Hawaii, UTEP, UTSA, ODU) that are also solid draws and rank favorably against the majority of the AAC and could do better as the Big East castaways lose their BCS luster.

I'm doing it because it's funny and it's taken off now and actually has a life of it's own. I really didn't think it was going to go as long as it did or actually create any real buzz but it has. Now that the ECU and UCF fans have fully infiltrated it the movement probably has a very long lifespan.

Blogs are one space to fight them on. O so much better to 03-nutkick the higher priced conferences they have a contract with in their stadium. Beat an AQ team on national TV and you will get all the exposure and redemption you need.

8/31 NIU at Iowa
8/31 Toledo(2 phil steele all americans) at Florida
9/7 Toledo at Mizzou(Pinkel was Toledo's HC)
9/21 Kent State at PSU(PSU starting a true frosh QB, paging DE Roosevelt Nix)
9/28 NIU at Purdue
10/5 BSU at VA

MAC wins those games and it will be 2012 all over again. Lots of coverage and an AQ bowl slot.

To be honest, I have a feeling the blog or site editor probably did this. I doubt it was the kind of decision made at the highest level of ESPN. The elimination didn't save any really money since the writers were just assigned full time to blogs they were already doing part time. Besides, 50% of Andreas salary could be paid out of the 2 million dollars ESPN is supposed to spend promoting the AAC (part of the new AAC contract that begins for basketball this fall and football NEXT fall).

I'm all for the #OccupyStanford movement by the AAC, but if they are successful in getting their blog back the MWC should get their own as well.

RE: AAC takeover of ESPN blogs #OccupyStanford
If the AAC deserves it's own blog, so do the other 4 members of the G5. If you really want to turn this into something big, gain the support of the other 4 conferences that make up the G5. This is could be the start of the fight for equality for the G5. The fight shouldn't be just about the AAC being downgraded, because that has already happened. It should be about the respect of the G5.

If you think losing a blog on ESPNs website is unfair and disrespectful, just wait until these guys really start to push us out.
