The fight shouldn't be just about the AAC being downgraded, because that has already happened. It should be about the respect of the G5.
If you think losing a blog on ESPNs website is unfair and disrespectful, just wait until these guys really start to push us out.
But the AAC fans apparently don't respect the other G5 conferences. MAYBE the MWC. They think they're above the other conferences so there won't be any joining of forces.

So what about the AAC, MAC, CUSA, MWC and Sun Belt?

Well they will never disassociate themselves from the rest of us. Well, I hate to say never bc college athletics is so unstable and unpredictable, but it's pretty close to never. I think the majority of their fans realize that. Still doesn't make it any easier to take. Of any conference, the AAC has more to be upset and disappointed about considering where the conference was, what they thought it would be, and how it is viewed now.

Today, yes. But the conference sure isnt what you expected it would be when you all made the decision to move. And for that, you have every right to be pissed the hell off.

I don't understand why AAC fans feel they are entitled to this blog. Kind of weird and immature. Should C-USA and MAC fans act like this too? We would be no less deserving. But I guess we already have our own blog.

Might make zero difference. On the other hand, what if it works? Not to mention the fact that doing absolutely nothing simply reinforces the narrative that the G5 have no fans and nobody cares about them.

Yep, the narrative is no one cares about G5 schools. The AAC in at least a small way is proving that's not true. Quite frankly all G5 schools need to do things like this to show ESPN and others that there are a lot of people who care deeply about these schools. Also AAC fans probably would be mad but would deal with it if they had given warning the blog was going away and actually had real valid reasons like lack of activity or cost savings for getting rid of it. However, there's a Stanford blog that to the best of my knowledge hasn't had more than 15 posts in any story that I could find and they didn't fire a single blogger they just reassigned them. They got rid of the blog for no other reason than to send a message, so a message has to be sent back. This is a cause that all of the G5 should get behind.

Couldn't the AAC's official website start a blog of its own?

Not the point. The point is the leagues TV partner should not have pulled an active and well used blog while keeping several that are complete wastelands. Sure we could create our own blog, but this is about the complete disrespect of dropping the blog the day of the new name change with zero heads up and zero guts to respond to why they did it.

At the very least, you're proving that you have a small but ultracommitted fanbase. You can make money off a small, fanatically loyal fanbase.
