That is CSUB, full name "California State University, Bakersfield" joining the WAC. UCSB is UC-Santa Barbara, a Big West program. Quite a difference between Santa Barbara and Bakersfield, even though they're less than 200 miles apart....

Rutgers and Maryland are now both official members of the CIC, though not official members of the Big Ten yet.

You need to add ESPN dropped its Big East football blog today and so far no AAC football blog has been added, This is a Big Statement by ESPN. 07-coffee3

Quite the list. Next year should be a bit smaller.

You could probably add:

Idaho FBS Independent

New Mexico St. FBS Independent.

Mid major status begins a year early. Ouch.

...more like ESPN is just evil. Let's be honest any conference with Wake Forest in it can't exactly be remarking on mid major status.

Can't wait to be on B10 network and never give ESPN a second of my time.

You could add that San Diego St. and Boise St. re-join the MWC who they would have been leaving on 7/1.

A BYU fan created several Google maps to show the geography of the realigned FBS conferences...

RE: List of changes that take effect today (7/1/13)
Just for FBS football only, there have been (not counting all the schools heading for the BE who never got there):
2011 5 schools (NE, CO, UT, Boise, BYU)
2012 10 schools (Fresno, Nevada, Hawaii, TCU, WVU, Mo, A&M, Temple, UTSA, Texas St.)
2013 16 schools
2014 11 schools are scheduled (Maryland, Rutgers, Louisville, ECU, Tulane, Tulsa, Idaho, NMSU, Appalachian St., Georgia Southern, WKU)
2015 3 schools so far-Navy, UNCC and Old Dominion. ODU might move up a year.

I don't think 2014 will be much of a slowdown because of all the trickle down effect on the basketball conferences.

Big West became an all-public school conference today, and the Big East is now an all-private school conference. There are at least two other all-private D-I leagues (Ivy and WCC), and a handful of all-public conferences.

Per conference rules, ODU will be eligible for the CUSA title and championship game in 2014.

Per NCAA FBS rules, ODU will not be eligible for a bowl game until 2015.

You have no idea. 364 days is a jail sentence. We're just going to have to wait it out.

And you wonder why many of us refuse to even pay attention to E*** anymore? Welcome to the world of the people who are willing to discuss ALL teams and not just their golden geese :)
