Great news. I hope that next piece of good news is that we have cancelled our future FBS games. I am dreaming of a deal with Louisville/WVU/Pick your power conference school where UC cancels the game against Stony Brook to play a road game at that school in 2014 with a return date to open up the new Nippert Stadium

The tweet from Peel says only 20 school DO NOT support themselves with general funds, and UC IS NOT one of those 20.

ok...im not insane...thanks..beat me to it

You've failed me again, eyes. Thank you for the correction! 04-cheers

So if we're getting $1M from 18 suites over 10 years, and the club options cost roughly $2,500/year (?) for 1,200 seats ($3M/year) that means in those ten years we'll have raised roughly $50M from this alone...that's not a bad ROI.

And that's just from ticket revenues and seat/suite licences alone. Can you imagine the increase in donations from these people who finally can sit comfortably and watch a football game at Nippert Stadium? I gotta think the size of UCATS/1200 Club donations from these people will increase and we'll see an increase of membership in the George Smith Society.

That $1M is not for the suites that is donations they have got from certain people.

Edit: Sorry that is for the Club ones not the suites. The Suites are a 10 year commitment and are 100,000 a year I do not see what they UCATS donation are for any of these.

The pricing is as close to as I can see it this way. From the site and the info in the artical. There is a $100,000 UCAT donation for the Suites. Plus you have to pay $6,500 per seat at 50 seats per suite so that is $325,000 per year. Plus you have to make a 3 year commitment to them so that is $425,000 a year total and for the 3 year commitment it will be $1,275,000. That is if my logic and math are correct.

From web site for the SUITES

Founders Club:

Annual Cost:
$6,500 per seat, per year
(3-year commitment )

Will accommodate 50 guests on the 4th or 5th floor. The Founders Club area will be climate controlled and will include:

Retractable windows
Lounge area and kitchenette
Flat screen televisions and replay monitors

Access to 3rd floor club level
Complimentary catering services included

Upscale hospitality opportunities.

Looking forward to seeing the "final" drawings of a renovated Nippert. With Prez Ono saying we're going to renovate both the West and East sides (as I figured they would), this could be good.

Both the Suites and the Founders Club Boxes are sold out already So you only have the Patio and the Student Club seating to choose from that is great news. That right there should pay for the Reno and put a little extra in the Football program plus the whole Atheltic program.

At this time, the exact stadium capacity after the project is finalized has not been determined because the final architectural plans are not yet complete. However, UC officials estimate that, after construction is completed, Nippert Stadium will have a capacity of approximately 40,000.

So has the capacity been finalized? I am assuming the architectural plans are complete, I really hope it can be pushed over that 40,000 hump.

They should do everything in their power to getto 40,000. That's a nice number and I feel like anything lower than that seems to be considered "small time" regardless of the team playing within its confines. This may mean completing that last section on the South side of the proposed second deck.

We will renovate both the East and West pavilions of Nippert Stadium to dramatically enhance the total fan experience at UC

That's awesome to hear. If they increase the inclination of the Shank Pavilion and shift it forward 10 feet or so (which is totally doable with today's advances in combined structural components), they could easily increase the capacity of that deck by quite a lot.

That makes a lot more sense than the numbers that have been thrown around in the past of $100,000/year for a 10 year commitment. A 10 year lease on a box is a huge expenditure that can't really be brought on by anyone outside of the massive companies of any area. Those numbers look pretty close to what I would expect for all ticket arrangements.

I'm interested to see what the club seating cost will be, I posted $2,500 simply because that seems to be the norm amongst schools in the area with club seating arrangements.

This floors me . Great job by Whit , Santa all all those who orchestrated the beginning phase of the Nippert expansion.

Makes you wonder why we didnt do this a long time ago. The demand was obviously there it becomes apparent now .

Looks like the new concourse and concessions area renovation and construction will utilize the VV parking garage.

[Image: 1044088_10151518890107717_1076294300_n.png]

And the West Side concourse will be getting a major facelift

Also, it seems as though they will be changing the gameday perimeter quite a bit. Not as excited about this news...

And for added effect, this is the conceptual design for the Founder's Suites...even though none of us will see inside of one.

The cost for club seats is in fact $2,500 per seat. If anyone hasn't seen the website yet, you can click on the various types of premium seating to see info about the amenities/cost of each.

The expanded renovation focuses on both the east and west side of the stadium. On the west side, a new press box structure will be built, adding suites, scholarship club seats and patio suites/loge boxes. The west concourse will also be renovated, including concession stands and restrooms. Improvements on the east side include expanded and additional concession offerings and restroom facilities along with enhanced fan traffic flow, including the building of skywalks to connect the upper deck with the gameday brick plaza on O'Varsity Way.

Its kind of hard to interpret the first two drawings on my last post, but those skywalks also include more bathrooms and concession areas as well. It seems like they are making the eastern concourse a two deck build while also cutting into the VV parking garage to ad more concession and bathroom options.

My one and only conclusion from this...NO MORE PORTA-JOHNS!

the founders club are two suites for george smith society members at 6,500 per seat per year, i think each suite holds 25.

then you have 16 other suites that are a million over 10 years and i believe that includes the cost of the tickets.

they also have loge boxes the price per year is 16 grand for 4 people and 30 grand for 8 people.

club seats are 2500 per year per seat

there is a commitment tied with each seating option from 10 years for suites down to 3 years (i believe) for club seats.

All of which equals a sh*t ton more money getting shoveled into our athletic department (and potentially a cut on dependency of skimming off from the general fund).

So, just to clarify, the east side concourse will now have essentially two layers, each with their own amenities?

Yes - based on the pictures, which may or may not be final, and some articles, it looks like midway up the Reed Shank Pavilion will be a new concourse with skywalks that connect to the O'Varsity Way (is that really the name?) - basically the door level of the west side of 5/3 Arena. This could be pretty cool. It will incorporate more of Varsity Village into the stadium.

Thanks for the images BearcatMan!
