I simply do not believe the results of this poll are accurate. Too many people on this board want people to think they are more educated than actuality. I don't buy that 1/4 of the people here have doctorate degrees. Less than 1% of Americans over the age of 25 have doctorates but yet 25% of the people on this board do?

I don't think it's inaccurate at all. One would think that a college sports-focused message board that's dealing with realignment and business issues (as opposed to strictly on-the-field smack talk) is going to have a readership that skews as much more educated than the general population.

Part Time. In Newark/Jersey City. But I suspect I'll end up on Livingston for a few classes since its one big business school.

Double Major - FSU (Fayetteville State University '95)
BS in Middle School Education and Math Education
Minor is Science Education
Secondary Ed certification

I will say that I entered college (App State) in '85, had way too much fun and ended up transferring to Fayetteville State which was my home town.

I agree with this statement

This no longer applies. It really depends where you live. And with more people looking for work, and some returning to school for tech degrees, many employers are lowering their starting salary.

Look how many posts are coming in during "normal" work hours.

How many jobs requiring only a high school education place people in front of computer with some degree of latitude about how that computer is used?

Most skilled sedentary jobs require a good bit of education.

How many people in the largest markets (where there is pro league competition) devote a great deal of time to intercollegiate athletics unless they attended college? Now out here in the sticks with the nearest NFL team a five hour drive, you've got tons of non-grads who have college teams as their first interest but that isn't the norm.

More importantly college athletics fans don't represent the typical American so it wouldn't be surprising that college sports fans aren't typical. In 2012 the Bama/LSU title game was the 13th most watched sports event with 24 million viewers in a nation of 300 million plus.

This. Despite the chronic accusations of stupidity and ignorance, this board is peppered with discussions of issues most fans don't even realize are going on. Most fans would consider discussing these issues to be more painful than plucking anal hairs.

BS and MBA from UofL.
