You didn't have anything common with GT. You barely played them before you joined the ACC. FSU just wants to play good teams. If BC is good and it helps the SOS, then it all works out.
We barely played many of the teams before playing in the ACC.
GT is a football school
They have won a national title
They are in the deep South and are the closest school to FSU.
They have a huge alumni base in ATL from FSU
Yeah but they have nothing in common just like BC. I swear you don't know very much about college football at all.
You really think a private school from fricken Boston offers the same to Florida State as Georgia Tech? Even when good, BC is not an exciting game. Learn about college football and how regional rivalries are built. The ACC needs to learn that too.
You make it sound like they have this bubbling rivalry and yet I don't hear anyone at either school dying to get the game.
Is Boston College not a football school? Like I said before, BC is not an exciting game to you. When BC is good, they do get some attention. 2006 BC at FSU...attendance 83,043. FSU wasn't even that good that year. BC was ranked.
FSU has high attendance at a lot of their games. That shows nothing.
Again, you have very little knowledge of college football if you haven't seen many at FSU wanting this game.
Let's put it this way. How about we take NC State, Duke or Virginia from you guys. Then you can play BC and Syracuse every year instead. I am sure you would be fine with that right ?
BC at FSU last year drew 81k .
Other games last year:
Murray St 70k
Savannah St 71k
Wake Forest 68k
Duke 71k
Fla and Clemson were sellouts.
So BC was your third most attended game last year and came close to a sellout. Also shows that you're not selling out most of your games like you want to lead us to believe.

RE: Another Divisional Discussion
Wait so you are telling me that Wake Forest/Duke/Savannah St/Murray St don't bring sellout crowds? Wow I wonder why that is?
And you are too dumb to realize you just hurt your point in your previous post.
In the previous post you cited the 80 K plus for BC in 2006 when they were good as proof that people cared.
Well BC sucked last year and FSU packed in 80 K plus again.
So you just successfully showed that your attendance point showed no correlation to how good BC is. Congrats.
Did you even go to UNC?

If BC performed like they did a few years ago when they were in the ACCCG (2 years in a row), this conversation isn't happening.

Also just to add to this, you know how many times Georgia Tech played Virginia before entering the ACC?

Need more data? In 2010, BC was your second highest attended home game. More than Clemson, UNC, BYU, Wake Forest.
What I'm showing you is FSU fans seem to like when BC comes to town.

Yeah I know. You already showed how BC being good or bad doesn't effect crowd size for the game. And you showed how dumb you are too. Nice job ignoring that part of my post.
There is no way you went to UNC. Unless they are lying about their academic standards.

That was your point on GT/FSU not being needed. It is another stupid point by you following your BC dumb point.

So now it is FSU fans liking BC? Before it was "BC draws interest when they are good. Just look at the crowd size in 2006".
Man you are so dumb that it is cracking me up. So clueless. Like I said, you obviously didnt' attend UNC. If you are even old enough to go to college.

at this and the UVA AD. Of course it is a non issue to UNC/UVA fans and admins. They picked their divisions and got everything they wanted out of them. There are way better divisions than this for rivalries to be enhanced and the football product to be improved.
The fact that this ahole AD calls its a non issue just screams arrogance. And it gives further credence to the fact that UVA/Duke/UNC run this conference and just tell everyone what to do.
And the football program won't be maximized as long as basketball schools are running the show.
Any AD's out there whining about the divisions?

FSU has already said they don't like the divisions. If you actually knew the sport rather than just throwing up replies, you would have seen this by now.

Randy Spetman went off on wanting to join the SEC and got slapped for it. And David Barron the President said they have asked about geographical divisions before. The articles are out there. You can google them. They clearly want the divisions changed.
All of my stuff read on it are insider articles that I can't copy.

RE: Another Divisional Discussion
Ragu, you make this too easy. I am a UNC alum. When I was growing up, FSU was my second favorite football team. To this day, I root for them over everyone else except UNC. To hear you constantly whine about divisions, the ACC jerking FSU around, and FSU not getting anything in return is quite pitiful. FSU has gained plenty since joining the ACC. I have the confidence that the school is making it's way back to being the top profile team they used to be. I don't sit here any worry about who they play and whether I like the match up. I want them to win. Doesn't matter if it's BC or GT. A dominant FSU is great for the league.

Yeah Spetman spoke out of turn and how he's getting replaced. I know Barron has spoken about getting GT moved into the division to cut down on travel costs. However, I haven't heard him say anything since Louisville is coming in. I wonder if he prefers Louisville to GT.

And you wonder why everyone complains about you. You ruin good thread after good thread by attacking individuals and trashing schools, when it has nothing to do with the discussion.
