of course it will as they don't want anybody else to be in their backyard & they have to have a bowl game for some lower caste $EC team to be in

Has the Bowl game found a sponsor yet?

The Pitt Bowl sounds like a good name.

It will be the BBVA Compass Bowl through this year, I'm sure they'll find someone. While it isn't a marquee game by any means, it still means tons of exposure on national television for the title sponsor. And I'll be darned, my mug is still on the website: BBVA Compass Bowl Staff

Maybe it can become the "UAB Medical Center Bowl" or "Children's Hospitals of America Bowl". I don't think "Urgent Patient Care Center of Jeffco" will be catchy enough.

Hell, why not the "Health Care Authority of Medical West, an affiliate of UAB Health System Bowl?"

ESPN has every reason to pump up the SEC. They broadcast them as their primo attraction. Soon they will run the SEC Network. They need to fill programming hours and sell advertising time. They'll do whatever it takes to prop it up.

Add to that the possibility that AU coach Malzahn may improve his team enough to get invited to the bowl here, and the stars just might align for another record crowd at the game.

It would be the perfect storm for the city of Birmingham and the Bowl.

It's funny how when the bowl game rolls around the media refers to Legion Field as historic and when UAB plays in it....................

Just so you don't hold your breath until then. I think the western campus will accept almost ANY bowl over coming back to B'ham. They don't even come to B'ham to board flights to bowl games anymore.

I'm still curious why Mal Moore was not flown directly from Tuscaloosa to Duke Medical Center rather than coming first to Brookwood. It's not like they couldn't get a charter flight via a Med-Jet or a booster's private plane for the trip.

I think Bama is more likely to accept a bowl game played in the Colliseum in Rome than to come to B'ham.
