JMU and CUSA, from W&M Athletics committee
http://flathatnews.com/2013/04/19/athlet...-gift-caa/

"The committee also discussed the status of the CAA, which has seen several members leave in part of a nation-wide trend to align with large conferences.

“The CAA is hoping to add three schools, to bring the total to twelve,” Driscoll said.

Driscoll explained that all current members of the CAA have verbally agreed to stay; although, there has been speculation that JMU will link with Conference USA in the future.

“They have not been offered to join Conference USA, and their board does not yet understand the financial implications of joining,” Driscoll said.

With the departure of the University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University and, most recently, Old Dominion University, the College and JMU remain as the only Virginia-based schools in the CAA."

I don't think there's anything new there.

No team will get a formal invitation until and unless the conference knows the answer is yes.

Board doesn't understand the finances because the Carr report isn't done yet.

Agree. This study should have been done a long time ago. I think we missed the mark here by reacting now instead of being proactive 18 months ago.

Quite hilarious that we seem to get more news from JMU from other schools than we do from our own school. They should be embarrassed at that, but it'll take them too long before they realize that's how they feel.

The study WAS started nearly that long ago... The study WAS NOT just started. These things take time people. Then once they're done, you have to negotiate. Not to mention we had a new president coming in.

If this study is taking 18 months to complete, then we should ask for our money back. There is no way a study of this type should take nearly two years to complete. I've been in consulting for 11 years...just don't buy it.

Same here. Under the circumstances, I could complete this study in two seconds. If given the time, give me two months.

It cracks me up that we can't conclude ANYTHING internally. Let's go back to the vault that gave us Keener. Why do we even have an AD? Why not just outsource everything? Brady isn't signed.....ugh....the whole thing is like one more clown getting out of the car at the circus.

The new president excuse it just that, an excuse that is getting tired.

I have faith in Alger, I have little faith in the remaining admin...we need a reboot and I think Alger knows it.

Sorry, my normal, abnormal cryptic response to being frustrated.

I logged in at whatever time it was and right off the bat 1 for 1, then 2 for 2 in the first 2 threads I read, bashing the Admin, baseless personal attacks againist the CAA and the the same yawning stuff that ruined the Zone for dozens of good JMU people.

just thought I'd keep score...

Ah. I'm so sorry I didn't post something about how happy I am about the state of JMU athletics and admin, or something that had a rainbow shitting skittles for you. I will keep that in mind next time I post to a free speech message board for a college that I donate plentiful to in order to have a POV.

What are even talking about? I didn't direct anything at you, you asked me a question to which I responded. Why so angry?
Rainbow shitting skittles? that is really necessary? Where in the heck did I say anything about your free speech or anything else? You asked me to what I was referring and I answered, the same old tired **** we've endured for years now.

I guess we can make it as ugly around here as we want, but no need for that. I, for one, apparently, had hoped for something different.

guess not. peace and Go Dukes.

For future reference, it is a well established fact that only unicorns are capable of passing skittles from their bowels. Rainbows lack the candy-making intestines found uniquely to the mythical one horned variety of equine.
