Who is plaining on staying?
From reading the board, it looks like most of the existing fan bases are looking for the exit even if they have not played a game in the sbc?

Its like utah state's bb coach a few years, after utah state made announced the move to the sbc, said he would never coach a game in the sbc.... And utah state never played a game of basketball in the sbc that i remember.

So who is staying? Who believes either they cant get in cusa or some other conference and will be here for the next 2 or 3 years?

We certainly don't have to move because we miss anyone.

Clearly the changes are not finished, and while TX ST would like[i] to be in cusa because of the number of TX teams in the conference . . . I don't see it happening . . . until someone says otherwise: SBC - Home Sweet Home 04-cheers

Anyone, if offered, isn't staying.

With that said USA will probably never "move up" from the Sun Belt unless it's to the AAC or if USM moves to the AAC. Otherwise USM would probably block us every time.

Can one school really do that? That seems like a ridiculous way to run a conference.

Sure they can. A school that opposed to a potential member can not only oppose the team, but convince close member schools to vote the same way. It would take someone really pushing USA for us to have a chance.

Back when the Metro Conference was being dissolved and C-USA was being formed USM was opposed to USA. Louisville pushed for USA against their wishes and got the votes needed for USA to be a member. Our AD was at the airport to go accept the invite, but our president called him and told him not to accept the invite.

Southern isn't going anywhere (not they have a choice). I honestly think GA Southern is going to be a proud Sun Belt member for a long time.... until we win 6 crystal footballs and the SEC comes a callin' (kidding).
