Wrong. Everything is actually being ran by the Q. The Ferengi just make money off of the gambling, drug-enhancement rackets and conference realignment/cable TV arrangements.

Don't hate the players, hate the Continuum.

Interesting bringing Q into it.

But he just hasn't been the same since he lost his powers.

He gains those back in a few episodes.... keep watching dude.

DS9 only got good with the additions of worf. Season 1 was garbage, but by season 6 it is one of my favorite series.

Voyager and TNG were pretty much good throughout.

Ben Sisko's acting was god awful at times, but I think the overall storylines throughout the entire series was much better than TNG or Voyager. Voyager was excellent and is my third favorite series, and I love TNG, but it's very corny and dated compared to DS9.

Plus, Quark is one of the best characters ever. And Garak. And Gul Dukat. And especially Weyoun.

RE: ot: Happy First Contact day!!!
I just now started reading this thread and i think I've found my peeps. I'm a Trekker.

DS9 was good but especially after Worf arrived. Agree about the acting on this show....some of the best.
Voyager was good but especially after Seven of Nine arrived. Mmmmmm
TNG was very cheesy the first couple years but matured well. I liked the long story arcs of DS9 and Voyager much better.
Enterprise could have been so much more than it was. it had potential.

But.......Babylon 5 and FireFly (best single season show in history) were my favorites.

As far as pure sci si goes Farscape was the best. Firefly was the best sngle season show. I've been rewatching the original Star Trek with my kids and I never realized how good the sci fi aspect of the original season was.

I would agree but its hard for me to give it that status because it only had 14 episodes. But man was it good. The writing, chemistry, etc was unmatched.

while one of my all time favorites I don't think farscape was the best show I think it has the best science fiction of the sci fi shows. if that makes any sense.

Of course, that depends upon your definition of science fiction but I would agree that Farscape was unique in it's variety of science fiction concepts.

Speaking of Farscape, I was probably one of the few who really liked the direction Stargate went once Browder and Black joined the show.

I loved SG-1! Claudia Black brought a dynamic and a character that I thought could really push the show for another 6 seasons. Oh, well.

Firefly tops my list just above SG-1. Also on the list are Doctor Who (classic and modern with the "Blink" episode one if the best episodes ever), Fringe, TNG, Farscape, BSG. Sliders was good too.

On another list is Haven, Buffy, Angel, Supernatural, and another that seems to have escaped me at the moment. I guess when I remember it I should remove it since I can't recall its name.

Have you seen Stargate: Universe? Was the best Stargate series, in my opinion. I wasn't a big fan of SG-1.

Farscape was good for the first few seasons, then just started... sucking. Fringe seems to be good so far.

SG:U was another show that had tremendous potential. I thought the last few episodes really laid the groundwork for some great story arcs but then....zap....cancelled.

SG1 was great in the beginning but grew boring with episode after episode of the same stuff. It became interesting again in the later years once they ventured into spaceships and new enemies.

SG:Atlantis was a duplication of SG1 with different enemies.

Battlestar Galactica was good as well. I thought they went a bit too dark at times but I like how it ended.

I've never gotten into the other kinds of scifi.....vampires, angels, fantasy sci, etc. I like space dramas. Space dramas are to our generations what Cowboy shows were to an earlier generation. I always felt Firefly was a modern day cowboy show, just a different setting.

That's because it's science fiction it's supposed to get a bit out there
