Complete information on Spring Game, Huskie Bowl, SpringFest, spring practice schedule and more here. They should set time of Huskie Bowl before the week is out, the football office was still working out a few logistical questions caused by the move of spring ball.

Looks like a good low cost time!

Northern Illinois will still play its Spring Game on Saturday, April 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Huskie Stadium. Prior to the Spring Game, NIU will hold "SpringFest 2013," a pregame tailgate party featuring live music, activities for kids and food and beverages from local vendors available for purchase, on the West Side of Huskie Stadium. There is no charge to attend SpringFest or the Spring Game, and parking in the lots around the stadium, is free. Promotional materials, including posters and schedule cards, will be available for pick-up. Prior to the game, Northern Illinois will raise a flag commemorating its 2013 Orange Bowl appearance and there will be an on-field ring ceremony.

Sounds like a great time. Hopefully it draws a decent crowd so that they keep doing it.

We as college kids last year, bout 5 of us or so, it was a blast. There was a decent crowd at the tent getting beers and food. There was a tailgate contest for food. It was all for 10 bucks, but you could eat and drink as much as you can consume. I'd like to see a bigger crowd, I think last year it was about the same day as tugs for the frats so they went in to the tent afterwards.

That should be saved for the first home game, not the spring game.

Only diehards will appreciate a flag raising for a game that we lost.

MACC flag gets raised for the home opener.

Right and they are trying to get MORE people out to the spring game.

Raising the flag at the home opener is not going to get more people at that game and it would be ridiculous to raise a banner before a real game celebrating a game that was lost.

Maybe they could also thank the 3500 of us who bought tickets....

LOL well I guess I get the look of death since I got my ticket on the hub as I had to go cheap on the whole trip.

Sure hope we have good weather for the spring game. Nothing like relaxing in the bleachers on a sunny day watching the Huskies test themselves in an informal game. Who will surprise?

I am interested in how the draft works.

Picking from all the players or each position group?

Looking forward to see what Ruka, Myers, Miller, Ippo and Santa do.

Mike was training over spring break as he did last year. I really like that kids work ethic.

I am guessing that it will be Larry Loyd.

I sure hope you guys are kidding about the Orange Bowl. Needless to say, we better use it in marketing every chance we get.

I assume they are joking. What would be really cool is if some bigger scheduling annoucement about a home game could be made close to the spring game. Anything to get the fan base excited would really be welcome and help season ticket sales, even if the game is in 2015 or 2016. We just need something to latch onto.

I would assume that this wouldn't be done until we get a new AD who believes in scheduling higher-profile opponents.

Yeah you are probably right, what is the timetable on a new AD, I think its not good to leave that position open long.
