I found this on an EDSBS comment thread today and thought I'd post. I'm not sure it's real and no clue what the original source is on it.

It's basically exactly what ECU did, but it's a cool idea for any school/program, in my opinion.

It's in the developmental phase, not finalized.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Something like this really shows how good an idea the PSOM logo was. That said I like the logo and the helmets and hope you guys go with them.

Decent. Would look better if the helemt was gloss instead of flat. I like flat finish paint but it just doesn't pop for me.

I really like the navy matte finish with the chrome stripe but I'm not sure the VA logo on the side does it for me. Overall I really like them but I'd like to see the same thing with just the Lion logo or crown logo. On the thread in the Lion's Den there's pics of different angles. I don't remember seeing anybody use a chrome finish like that.

I think the Virginia could work, but the logo on the inside would have to change. Maybe moving the ODU logo around, or using a different one. Or, get rid of the ODU logo, and just make it a white outline of the state with Hampton Roads Highlighted in a light blue. I think that'd be kinda cool.

You're welcome for the idea. Haha... luckily, Virginia has a cool shape to it like NC. If say, Montana, South Dakota, or North Dakota did it... it'd look stupid.

Ah, so they do.

I think the reflective silver strip down the center looks kinda cheap - you can see some of the sticker rippling off on the sides. But as many have said, this is a concept. I'd like it better if it weren't matte, also, so the blue in the logo would almost exactly match the blue on the helmet - or if the helmet were a standard white like Penn State but with this logo would work real well, also.

I'm a huge fan of this - as long as they keep that state logo on the helmets, I'm behind it.

If we do keep this helmet design, could we wear it against ECU (and have them wear their Pirate State of Mind helmet)? Awesome levels would be off the charts.

Oh... and UVA stole our football season ticket spiral booklet idea. I know this for a fact, because my buddy (ECU grad) works in the athletic department there and said that the ticket folks were blown away by how nice our's was. So they decided to change to match it.
