There will be tons of media hacks and opposing fans (and even some of our own fans) that will pick against the Tigers. A lot of people perceive us as frauds because of this narrative they have constructed about C-USA since 2005-06. There is but one way to shut these slowleaks up. Kick ass.

Unfortunately if we lose, and until we beat a top 25 team next season, they'll be justified in that narrative.

CJP needs to use this kind of stuff as motivation.

We kicked ass from 2006 thru 2009, and we still heard it every year. There is just a prejudice on some level regarding the demographics of Memphis, the commuter school stigma, and the continued notion that every Memphis team is always filled with local problem kids that are great athletes but lack fundamentals. We could recruit nothing but slow white kids from Iowa whose father was a coach and it would be hard to get the stigmas associated with Memphis out of the ignorant's minds

Yep, and the key word under Saint Mary's is discipline... as in Memphis is an undisciplined team that lacks funadmentals

Mostly just because it gets tiring reading any summary of our game, and every one of them speaking as though Memphis will lose. Been that way for years too so I guess it just grates at me haha.

There are plenty of people that predict us to make a run too, fans just focus on the negative.

Justified in saying we haven't beat a "ranked" team? yes

But we are not "frauds" and that is a bunch of BS.

30-4 teams that finish 16-0 in conference and win their conf tourney's are not "frauds".

Matt's gonna lose BOTH those bets, which will set back his dream of building the modeling school for kids who can't read good and stuff. St. Mary's will stick it to SHITZU, and we'll subsequently humiliate the Gaels.
