Maybe is is the time change that's fried my brain but I thought there was a thread about his latest Huggs v. Mick talk.

RE: Was I hallucinating or was there a Lance McAllister thread that disappeared
Yeah, I posted a comment. Took a phone call at work. Went back to read other comments and the thread was gone.

Personally, I didn't see anything wrong with what Lance posted. It wasn't his comments. He simply posted a UC fans email supporting Mick and mildy bashing Huggs. It pointed out the fact that Huggs never beat a higher seed in the NCAA Tournament, which is true, and always bothered me a bit. I'd look ahead and say to myself, well if so-so with the higher seed wins and plays us next game, we're toast.

I'm no Lance apologist, but sometimes it seems people wanna take any opportunity to rip certain media people in town, justified or not.

Here's the issue. He's the one talking about Huggs and Zimpher on his blog. He's the one who posts an email by some guy who is spouting off some Huggs v. Mick comparison. He gives attention to this kind of fringe fan and then tries to characterize this as wholly representative of "the fan base" and how "divided" it is.

I sent him an email pointing out the irony of a guy who talks about division and people not letting go of Huggs, who himself can't stop talking about it. I told him the vast majority of "the fanbase" is focused on this team in the tourney and our conference situation and not Huggs over Mick or Mick over Huggs. He responded with THREE separate rambling emails in response to my single email, telling me if I was a REAL fan I'd be calling in to support of Mick (which made no sense), how I'm attacking him as the mere messenger (he's more like the Boy who can't stop crying wolf though than a messenger here), and how UC's administration know they have a real problem with the fans.

The guy can't take anyone calling him out for the sh** stirrer he is, and he has the debate and retort skills of a small child. I may just have to post his responses for laughs.

Bearcatfan, sorry if my post influenced you in any way. I did not mean for you to delete your thread.

It's my personal opinion - I'm fine with freedom of speech, but I am always beside myself as to why we all need to pay so much attention to the shock jock/sh*tstirrers in the local media whose only goal is to turn a fan base against itself. So I posted as much in that thread. It wasn't supposed to be a request to remove it.

So, Chatter I disagree that there was "no problem" with Lance's post. He is just making trouble between the Huggins haters and the Huggins defenders. Those, like me, in the middle who could care less, just end up shaking our heads at the whole thing.

No problem. I will admit I was curious to the responses, and it was heading down the path I thought it would. So maybe I felt a little guilty for doing that.

But I did not realize deleting my original post would delete the entire thread. But it's back now and the responses are good.

Six emails from the guy. I'll try to cut and paste them when I get a chance. Boy does he not like it when he gets called out. Probably why he only takes calls from idiots who agree with him. Resorts to name calling and refuses to see the simple point that he's part of the problem in dividing fans. Instead just kept telling me how clueless I was and how me attacking him proved his point that we are a divided fan base, which made zero sense. Yeah lance me disgreeing with a phony radio host is proof itself of the fan divide. I told him his "I'm a fan!! I'm just the messenger" nonsense might work on the do nothing idiots who call his show who also probably think pro wrestling is real but most fans see right through it.

Chatter is Lance!?!?! Omg. Could it be?

Seriously that's an insult to chatter.

Ps- lances last email to tonight now says the fact that there was a smattering of boos Saturday during one particular spell of godawful offense is proof of the "divided fans" and not being "behind mick" or "over Huggs." I pointed out that there was more booing of satterfield in 01 when he kept taking and missing end of game shots so I guess that means the fan base was divided and missed tony Yates!

What's Huggins 13-18 at WVU, Cronin 3 consecutive years in the NCAA and 20 win season. Time to bring Huggins back said the loyal foolish UC fan. Are you kidding? Huggins is slipping so bad it's not even funny. I have doubts that he can even still coach.

That's why I was kind of happy to see Huggs gone.

You can appreciate what a guy/coach has done but also feel they've gone as far as they can take your program. His constant failures in the Big Dance, and never having beaten a higher seed were bothersome too.

My real beef was I felt after the K-Mart injury and disappointing end to what was going to be a great season, that Huggs kind of fell apart and so did recruiting. Between his mom dying, his heart attack, his excessive drinking, and womanizing.......it seemed Huggs was preoccupied and couldn't do his job to the best of his ability. And he may have just become bored or comfortable.

I thought the best thing for both Huggs and UC was to part ways. It just happened in a terrible fashion and at a bad time, which was Zimpher's fault. Causing us to lose 2 recruiting classes.

Huggs seemed a bit rejuvenated, and UC unfortunately got to rebuild.

But the Huggs you see this season is the direction I saw Huggs heading. He's probably drinking too much again.

Chatter, the drinking comment is uncalled for.

Huggins is history at this point, little more. Move on.

RE: Was I hallucinating or was there a Lance McAllister thread that disappeared
Chad- Thanks for the heads up. Look forward to some Cats talk without an agenda and divisiveness.

Lance sent me three more emails late last night and this AM. I guess the guy isn't used to debating someone when he can't just talk over them and end the call. He moved the argument to booing at the game saturday. When I responded to it and said the booing was at one frustrated point during the game and doesnt mean the fan base is divided he literally asked me why I was talking about the booing (after he brought it up!) and then suggested I thought booing kids was okay. Seriously the guy either doesnt read or has ADD or is just really really dumb. He then went on to compare UK's fanbase to ours and how they would never boo anything at rupp arena. So now the debate is about who has better fans. I finally told him I was done, he had obviously skipped the logic classes at Butler or is insufferable ego and hard head were too stubborn to actually address and debate the point I was making. Mind boggling.

Anyway, I just can't bear letting a guy with a radio mic get away with this kind of divisive crap. He claims he's been talking to Mick and Whit about it and they totally agree that there's a big problem. It makes me sick. I guess he thinks if he keeps saying something long enough and people think it is an issue. It is similar to the media negativity around our programs over the year. They harp on attendance, how we'll never succeed as a football program, how nobody can get over Huggs and sooner or later people hear it long enough and think the stuff is all true.
