2005-2012 we used Tulsa, Orlando, and primarily Memphis correct? Orlando and Memphis are gone, Tulsa may be gone as well. Will the league try to bring the tournament east?

Huntington-Charleston don't have the amenities/facilities for a top knotch bball tournament unfortunately.

El Paso is going to build a downtown arena about 2 miles away from UTEP. Unsure where it will be built since the city is between moving City Hall. I would not be surprised Charlotte and San Antonio enter the frey.

Im not sure I would consider CUSA 2.0 bbal tournament to be "top notch"

Average strength of CUSA basketball teams has improved with this alignment, actually. It will also be more competitive top to bottom.

If we (UTEP) support the tournament the way we did two seasons ago, El Paso will be in a regular rotation to host the event. Whether or not you want to come here aside, the fact that every game had a minimum of a 1000 people in the stands is a very big deal. ECU and their cheerleaders have a memory that they will never forget with their game against UAB.

i think this is true. cusa will have a much better shot at multi-bids when the 800 lb gorilla (memphis) leaves the scene. schools will be judged on the relative merit to each other instead of memphis. cusa has a good opportunity to grow the basketball side of things going forward

MS Gulf Coast (biloxi, casinos) would be a great outside the box idea...let USM host at the Gulf Coast Coliseum.

The Coast Coliseum hosted the Metro Tournament twice I believe, but my guess is Nashville or Charlotte after El Paso hosts next year.

Orlando never hosted. It's been Memphis, El Paso and Tulsa.

If it isn't in El Paso, I like the idea of San Antonio. The AT&T Center is great.
