C7 giving up almost all exit fees to 3 football schools / win-win
Looks like the 3 football schools will pocket a boatload of money -- C7 schools to receive almost 4 million each per year >>>

Just as important will be keeping the basketball units of the nonC7 that leave.
That basically will bring in 20-25 million a year for the next few years to the 10 team league which would be higher than our tv deal.

Holy crap -- is that true -- as in cite a reference true? If so, this is a pretty solid deal for the incoming group also.

Each basketball unit is worth at least 250k a year. Not counting what those teams do this year in the tourney for the 2013-14 payout the Big East brings this many units.
UConn 12, USF 3 and UC 5 only UC looks to add to that number

Pitt 10 plus this year
Cuse 12 plus this year
WV 12 units
ND 6 plus this year
UL 15 plus this year

That's 75 units without this years tourney results at 250k a unit 18.750 million next year

Use your basketball credits like Memphis --- oh wait. OK - pay it out of The Conference Formerly Known As The Big East's Tv and othef revenue --- oh wait.

Except its not our money. The admissions contracts for the new teams spcifically says that we get no share of NCAA credit income earned prior to our admission. We also get no part of the exit fee income as the exiting schools all left prior to our admission. That money belongs to USF, UConn, Cinci, and Temple.

For the new teams, all that happened today is that we lost an association with a well known and recognized brand. Now, maybe an agreement to share that income has been made--but under the current bylaws and agreements--the new schools will see no windfall and were by far the biggest losers today. Im hoping someone in that room was on our side today.

At the very least i could see the new guys entrance fees waived since you are joining a new league.

Your school, along with Cindy and UConn will get rich as hell off this garbage. The rest of us get nothing but a hollowed out unnamed conference where everyone is looking to leave as soon as possible. Yeah, it's just great.

lol... Im sure bowls will want to make a big splash by signing the conference that nobody ever heard of. Seriously, we always knew the bowl part of the equation was going to suck for us. I just thought we would at least be able to feel great about our big tv contract. Just tell me that our reward for winnning 8 games is not going to be playing a CUSA team in Birmingham.

Yep. I am guessing lots of Mid-December games against MAC/SBC teams in bowl games in Shreveport, Boise, Birmingham.... at least our conference champ will get to play the SEC #9 at the Liberty Bowl.

Was hopeful that those new member contracts would have provisions / exclusions written into them that BE teams must remain in league for a specified time, in order to collect those credits. If members did not meet that criteria...those credits would revert to current league members, when the credit is due. Therefore, the league fosters trust while protecting its all its membership, & providing retention incentives.
