RE: 2013 Class - Predictions sure to go wrong (Fav player, sleeper, fails)
Most Valuable Pickup - Ducee Turner (he saved this class)

NFL potential- Blake Holder (Had a Tom Lemming mention)

Walk-ons - Any of the OL guys we got. They are all huge and bet is at least one of them develops to all conference.

Defense - Robert Jones (This guy wanted to be a Huskie all along. He has a new fan in me.)

If you look at the class we addressed areas of need. With our WR's graduating we picked up 3 or 4. We loaded up on defense at the LB and DB areas which was needed. Not to mention we got the #1 skill player that was recruited by anyone in the conference.

Overall considering everthing, a pretty successful class considering it was only 14 scholarships. I am expecting absolutely huge things though next year on the recruiting front when we have a lot more schollys available. Top of the list is the next great QB after the McIntosh/Williams/Hare era. We will probably need 2.

The unlikely darkhorse sleeper pick that nobody wants to take anyways. I don't know why I'm so excited about this guy, but he's a highly touted kicker. Excited to see what he can do. And I would love to see him sail a dagger through a MAC opponent with the clocks hitting :00 from 50+.

Put me down also as liking this guy also. For those who haven't seen his video on the Official Verbal Thread check him out. (Yeah, it's not game situation and maybe there's a little editing....but mercy, he really pounds the ball.)

He's built more Janikowski-like than like a Matty Sims. (Not that there's anything thing wrong with that. Sims has helped win us a couple MACC's!)

According to the website (http://www.thekickingcoach.com), the only editing would've been to just show the kicks. It show's him going 16/16 with a long of 70. He made the following from both the left and right hash...30, 35, 40, 45, 50. Then he made a 52, 55, 57, 60, 65 and 70. Seems impossible but apparently he pulled it off. I'm certainly looking forward to watching him kick in HS.

I was one of the crybabies waiting for signing day and am now THRILLED with this group. Love the walk on group, think Briggs, the QB and Payton have legitimate chances of being very successful college players. (kiss of death) Payton may be a fullback.

Obviously excited about D. Turner out of Ohio and Malik, the WR out of Georgia, but I have a feeling about that big RB out Aurora Christian....could he be the big back we need for short yardage situations?
Does anyone know much about Chad Beebe, the small WR? could he be another Dan Sheldon?

William Lee looks terrific at D tackle to me. And we're not far removed from having 240 pound walkon converted fullbacks playing that position so we've come a long way.

It looks like all three O-linemen have good sleeper potential.

Those kicks look good!!! Hopefully with pressure and bad weather he can still do that

I can still kick 60 yd fg's but with pressure I couldn't hit anything!

One year red shirting behind sims will do this kid good! Good things to come

I am pumped to see turner play heard good things

Running Backs, wide receivers and Offensive lineman will all make an impact this year and help Lynch break more records and have a top 15 ranked offense.
Will also do better against a top 2 defense like Florida State.
Predict a 12-0 season barring injuries and a rebuild defense.

O...M...G!! That kid is a freak of nature. With him, I would kick field goals on every 4th down, no matter where the hell the ball is. My God! How did he get passed up by the big boys?

Plus it'll be nice to see touchback after touchback.

It's sure hard to not be most excited about Turner. I still like Huff a lot too. I can only imagine the kind of offense we can have with natural RBs and a Dri Archer type player.

Jones can really tackle, and he's fast. Lee seems to be a freak of an athlete. He is very quick for his big size and could be dominant on the inside.

Forgot one... I'm also really excited about Chad Beebe. He could be huge for us... quick screens, over the middle, etc. Lots of possibilities. Every highlight I see he's making a DB look silly.

Well, glad i'm not the only weirdo who actually was in awe as I watched that kid bombing field goals...as good as our kickers have been over the past decade I always feel like college kickers are highly volatile anywhere beyond 30 yards out

I'm answering my own question with this from his bio:

First-team all-state honoree in 2012... Connected on six of 10 field goals and made 25-of-27 extra points... Average 43.1 yards on 28 punts... Teammate of fellow NIU Aregeros Turner... Spent his first three seasons at Firestone High School... Rated No. 1 kicker by Filip Filipovic of the Kickingcoach

There may be a bit of an accuracy issue here during game situations. Well, the kid certainly has the leg! A little work on getting the ball through the uprights in game-type situations will help....just as long as he does not train for accuracy with the basketball team.
