Last time NIU beat Kent was in Ohio.
How far back do we have to go for a win in Dekalb? Chick Evans Field house?

The "we told you so"/elitist attitude from some people on this board is just as bad as the "this is the worst team i've ever seen" attitude. I don't know if there are any threads on this board without statements from both corners being thrown around and it makes this place really damn annoying.
Great game tonight. Bad defense down the stretch but Nader came up big. Good stuff.

Half of the posts on the EMU thread were yours. 1-21, 1-22, 1-23,...

I think this board is use to bad NIU BB teams relative to the Chick Evans field House era.
The upside to this, is if NIU BB makes the Big dance , this board will be dancing.

Wow, didn't see any of it, but I could have lost a lot of money if someone would have taken a bet that we'd win this game.
This team is so weird...we've now beat Miami and kent st.? HA...wow. Great Stuff.

Hey robertn, where you at. Maddowg said NIU would bounce back, you said they would get killed. Good job Monty, even If you cant coach. Sat is a huge game, please people come out. The crowd makes a huge difference!

I was at work. Pleasently surprised that we won. I need to stop watching the games on the MAC site on saturdays because everytime I do we lose and when I don't watch the game(usually at work) we play well or win. THinking about it, it does seem like we play KSU pretty well many times. The one time I drove to Kent to watch a game we actually won. I don't remember what year it was though or how good either team was that year(though we must not have been terrible given the decision to drive to Kent for a game). Must have been about 10 years ago(where does time go?).
Btw, I do think it is Kenny Battle doing the color. I think he did it for our last home game too.

RE: Kent State @ NIU
Kent State never led, Nader with a dagger and 26 points (got to the foul line 11 times, and got 11 boards, only 2 turnovers...WOW), 14 assists on 22 buckets, won the rebounding war, 7 assists for Petey Balls (I hope NIU has found a PG) and 719 go home happy. It sure takes a lot of good for NIU to win by 2, but the Huskies are 3-4 in the MAC, and MAC wins are the first step for this program, especially since a couple are on the road.
Still a lot of turnovers, and Akeem Springs is gone (bummer). It's amazing how quickly he decided to leave, and just a bummer. He looked like a guy that could be very useful for the Huskies....I guess Monty isn't done recruiting for next year.
Toledo is up next. Time for a two game winning streak, I hope.

The Springs thing is such an immature decision on his part. He's leaving because he's not starting and he never got over the fact. A shame.

That's my feeling on it too, and it sucks but it could work out for both. He's not THAT good to supplant Monty's crazy starting rotation. I like that Monty didn't bend to his demand, at least. Coaches have to run the program.

I'm not blaming Monty for it, but he has to keep the majority of his players if this program is going to get better. Losing a guy or two, okay, but we can't be having a load of freshman coming in every year.

Yeah, we aren't getting Kentucky recruits.

I do absolutely love Balls and Baker playing together in the back court, though. Springs leaving probably means we see more of that.

Way off topic but I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if we had Smallwood and Balls on the same team. I suppose we could just get Dog Fan and have the same thing.
