RE: Model For Our Future Stadium
That's a really cool design concept.

I remember a few years back the UofM caught a lot of flack for staging a golf tournament that had one of the casinos as a sponsor. People were complaining about the gambling tie-in.

Well, since then, the state of TN has legalized gambling, i.e. the TN Lottery.

So, the UofM should start exploring those possible sponsorship dollars again. Nobody can complain about the negative perception of universities and gambling when the proceeds from state-run gambling now go directly to universities.

RE: Model For Our Future Stadium
Our stadium should be an exact replica of SMU's with some Memphis flavor. That's all we need.

And, another reason why UNLV should be begged to join Big East

Does not have to be anything wrong with the LBS for it to not be the best thing for Tiger football. That's been covered on here....a lot.

Exactly! That's why we've sunk 50 million into it so far with more on the way.

I agree with the comments on that link, it's a coverup for a possible NFL team in Vegas.

No. It's to keep the Pro Rodeo finals, bring in a New Year's bowl game, and to host very large concert events. Vegas wants visitors that come once a year - not season ticket holders.

Vegas makes more money on the NFL sports book than you can believe. An NFL team here would mean no NFL betting here. No one in Vegas wants that.

No, we have been bombarded by misleading propaganda by those with an agenda. Given data after data while selectively leaving out information that does not support their position.

That is the conventional wisdom. But, times change...

RE: Model For Our Future Stadium
I hate to beat a dead horse ,but I am not familiar with all the arguments on this discussion. Why are people so sure that an OCS will make so much of a difference . It is not that far from campus to central and hollywood . Why would it be any different ? Do you realy belive this would change a students mind about going to the game? Sometimes it frustrates me to see all the indecision in the program when it comes to football. I do not know just how much the tigers pay to FF and LBS to use thier facilities but surely it is'nt anywhere near the cost of new venues. Given the fact that the Liberty Bowl and Souther Heritage are played there every year do you realy think the powers that be are not going to do everything to keep the tigers playing in that stadium ? As for the condition of LBS ,should the tigers,SHC ,LB have not done something to help keep it in better shape before now? Now that they have settled the law suit will they continue to improve the LBS at a faster pace? If an OCS changed things for the tiger I would be all for it, but I have some doubts that it would. We realy need to come together as a fan base and make a decision either way and get it done. A house divided cannot stand. Can we please stop being part of the problem ,and become the catalyst for the solution.
