I think we will be a tad better overall....losing MEM hurts but just gives other teams a better chance to make the dance which should help improve recruiting.
An argument could be made that losing MEM is a good thing since preseason bias will be removed (not taking a thing away from MEM performance mind you)
I see more two bids than singles year to year. Time will tell....

It just will boil down to scheduling. There should be policies in place to encourage teams to always schedule up, rather than down in the OOC. This league has a ton of potential on the basketball front, and may very well be a 3+ big league some years.

CUSA added three schools with absolutely terrible basketball facilities. FIU, FAU, and UTSA have a lot of work to do. What they have now is a joke.

This. It all comes down to a few teams separating themselves every year. As long as we can avoid parity, we can be a 2-3 bid league every year given the amount of quality basketball programs that are currently in the league and coming on in the next few years.
If the stars align at the right time this league could be really, really solid in any given year.

The season is half way over, conference play just started. Finish up strong and make the tournament then you will get praise.
Charlotte is 14-2 but still has 14 games to play. Alot can change in that time.

We need the teams to schedule winnable games as well. I understand that we need the perception of the league to be as good as possible, but UTSA, FIU, FAU, Rice, etc. scheduling 8 teams that beat them by 30 will not help the league overall. We need ODU, Charlotte, UAB, USM, Marshall, MTSU, etc. to schedule as many good winnable games as possible, because that will help everybody. It's a bit of a tricky situation, because there could be a large gap between the top and bottom of the league.

C-USA has had in (for two years now) a "recommendation"... schedule better RPI teams on the road, and the not-so-better ones at home.
You take a gamble of losing at home yes... but you play the "lessen the damage" game on road losses.

Where's North Texas on this list? Yes, we are having a down year, but we've been pretty great the last ten or so years and we have a top 40 recruiting class; hopefully our coach will figure it out too, he's pretty wet behind the ears.

Depends on what you mean by winnable. We already tried to schedule weak non-conf and it didn't do a thing for us. We're now scheduling at a higher level (i.e. tougher non-conf schedule). It's really helped change the perception and culture of the program.
Just about everyone we scheduled this year were either NCAA tourney teams last year or NCAA worthy this year (sans a few of the local schools like Tenn St).
In the past calendar year or so we've beaten UCLA, UCF, Ole Miss (twice), Vanderbilt, and Tennessee. And you can't beat them if you don't play them.
The other thing is the RPI is so skewed to benefit the teams that play tougher schedules that you end up with a better RPI if you're playing top teams and losing than if you're playing garbage teams and winning.
But I get what you're saying. Perhaps a better way to put it is schedule smarter. You should have a pretty good idea if you have a legit contender or not from year to year and basketball scheduling is not like football scheduling so you can schedule tougher if you know you're going to have a good team and schedule a little bit weaker if you know you're not going to be as good. One thing that the league can't afford to do is put 300+ RPI teams on your schedule. It will just kill your RPI and league's.

It's not MTSU I'm talking about by any stretch of the imagination. Your schedule has been solid the past few years(at least) as has your team. It's the bottom tier teams I'm talking about. We don't need F_U and UTSA playing top 50 schedules OOC if they are going to wind up 3-9 entering conference play. They need to play challenging games, but it needs to be within reason. They clearly aren't going to beat Duke or even a team like MTSU. But maybe they can play some borderline top 100 games that are at least winnable. I know we don't want anybody scheduling the entire SWAC OOC, but we don't want everybody to have a winning record entering conference play if that's possible. All I'm saying is create the best possible schedule you can based on where your program is at.

Will you guys please do us all a favor and just shut it? We had to hear about it all preseason, and now that the season has started, you still aren't going to quit? You have an RPI over 250. Last year it was 198. The year before 133. The year before 104. Before that you ask? 126, 141, 126, 201, 205, 240. What part of this decade has been pretty great? Win some meaningful games and finish in the top 100 in the RPI and we will talk. That is why nobody is talking about North Texas.

We were 0-12 in football last year. Doesn't mean we don't have a good program, just an epically horrible season.

You lose Memphis, UCF, Houston, SMU, ECU and Tulane.
Some of the others leaving are decent or on the rise, but generally the only big blow to C-USA Basketball is Memphis. You get several good additions in Charlotte and Old Dominion.

I can tell you why no one talks about UAB, because nobody even knows who the hell y'all are...just a hyphen satellite school.
Anyway, UNT, Charlotte, ODU, MTSU are all good adds to the basketball arena of CUSA.

On a forum for the CUSA, sure. We're a new entry, still technically Sun Belt.
I wasn't the one being a dick, he acted like an ass first, apparently I'm supposed to bow down to the greatness that is UAB basketball; it's not like I'm talking to UTEP here, I'm talking about UAB. The University of Alabama-Birmingham. Didn't really put any effort into basketball until Johnny Jones. Am I supposed to be intimidated by your elite eight appearance in the 80s or your final four appearances?
The point is, I'm not talking to Charlotte, UTEP, ODU or Memphis about basketball. I'm talking to UAB. The tallest midget. CONGRATULATIONS!
