I hope we can somehow do better than last place, but it's going to be tough. The Big East is going to be pretty darn good next year.

Yeah. It actually say a lot when the lowest projected team is coming off a three game winning streak and returns the bulk of their team.

Comparing us going to the Final Four with NC State and Villanova winning the NC.

We'll likely be seeded in the 5-11 range. It is not uncommon for schools in this range to make a Final Four. In fact, 22 teams have done it in the 34 years since the tournament extpanded to 40 teams in 1979.

NC State and Villanova winning the title as 6 and 8 seeds were much more unlikly than a 5-11 seed making the Final Four.

34 * 4 = 136. 22/136 = 0.16. 84% of 5 to 11 seeds in the past 34 years have not made the Final Four.

I don't know what you mean by uncommon. But to me that's uncommon.

A Final Four would be a literally incredible (that is not believable) finish to the season. It would likely be one of the great tournament stories of all time.

Even a Sweet Sixteen, while not necessarily a literally fantastic (that is almost of the realm of fantasy) outcome, would certainly be an amazing finish to the season.
