well, still, impressive showing for this team, hopefully they keep improving. Saw some exciting things today.

There was some panic out there. Too bad, there was still time to create a better look.

A loss is a loss is a loss, but this was an encouraging game overall. Most thought NIU was in for a beatdown, and NIU went toe-to-toe with DePaul from beginning to end.

DePaul went 21-25 from the free throw line, give them credit. That's how you win a tight ball game....if NIU can keep up the defensive pressure (13 steals!) without fouling so much, good things, i.e., wins, are coming.

Outrebounded DePaul by ten, got up 18 more shots....if just a few more fall. Damn.

There is hope this year. I wish NIU can play like this every game!

NIU will be very competitive come MAC season. Next year, with dontell highsmith on the team, we should be very good. The grays are missing too many layups. Bolin is not having a good season. The team took another step forward.

Although it's frustrating to see us miss so many shots around the basket, I love watching this team. Any team that plays defense that hard and rebounds like the Huskies do is worth the price of admission.

DePaul fans sitting around us at the game were surprised and impressed by NIU. They knew they were in a fight to the finish.

That's the first time I've seen them look like a real team in quite some time. They just need a go-to person for those crunch times to get them over the top. And of course, better free throw shooting.

Something clicked today....hopefully it continues. It was a lot of fun.
