RE: New scoreboard for Huskie Stadium
I was just going to ask yesterday what the next upgrade to the stadium would be. This answers my question. So many great things happening for the Football Program.

I love it! From the other thread, I hope that includes a new sound system. I would assume so.

The new scoreboard at Miller Park was just north of 10 million, so maybe we can expect one-third of that size. Which is still huge!

http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/ar...l&c_id=mil

It's the fourth-largest scoreboard in Major League Baseball at 5,940 sq. ft. and came with a price tag north of $10 million.

So 1960 sq. ft?!?!? I could only wish it would be that big

If you have seen the new Brewers scoreboard, it's amazing!!!!! I can't imagine what the one in Kauffman stadium looks like.

It was pretty much assumed we would get a new board between the IHSA coming to town and the need for it, but I'm really excited about the ribbon boards that will replace the current advertising on the sidelines. That's really going to enhance the look of the place.

+1. The new scoreboard and ribbons boards are gonna look great! Huskie Stadium is really starting to come together. Yordon Center is up, the Indoor is being built, all we need now is the press box upgrade and we are ready to roll!

Just got off the phone with Compher. He said they were modeling the scoreboard after this:

From someone who works in the field - this is a big-time investment - for a board for a stadium this size - 3.3 mil should get us a great board - hopefully integrate video and graphics as well. Way to go NIU - ribbon boards will look sweet as well.

I wonder if Daktronics is still going to do the software - we don't work with them anymore at the sports team I'm affiliated with, but they've done a great job in the past for NIU

Mrs Cawoo sells digital signage for Samsung. Let's keep the money local... It'll end up getting kicked back into the program!

Iowa State's new scoreboard cost 5 million.

South Carolina's cost 6.5 million.

Eastern Washington's cost 1.1 million

WVU's cost 5 million.

It should be pretty impressive.

Sorry but Iowa State's board looks ridiculous. It looks like an interstate truck stop sign.

Pretty sure the South Carolina was a bad photoshop job by The Onion until I Googled it. jeez that thing looks like a joke.

Where would those ribbon boards go, along the scoreboard or in place of the advertisements?

I would assume and hope on the facing of the East and West side in place of the advertisements.

Definitely. Actually, I think those are the only places you could put them. I don't think they would work anywhere on the Yordon Center, and they definitely wouldn't work anywhere else.

I think it will help a lot with keeping some fans entertained during the long ass tv time outs and official time outs. I even find myself getting bored during those.

Perfect place to start a "RED! BLACK!" chant!
