You obviously are not familiar with the number of NFL players that NIU has produced which include

Indy Colts OGuard Ryan Diem who protected QB Peyton Manning's backside for nearly a decade

RB Michael Turner
DE Larry English (SD) first round draft pick
Dallas Cowboys starting RT Doug Free who protects EIU grad QB Tony Romo's backside.

There are others but these are the most prominent. If you're not thrilled with playing NIU, blame Nebraska(who got blown out by Wisky in the Big 10 title game) blame Lville who lost at home to UConn in their 2nd to last game, blame Texas who lost 4 games.

NIU finished ahead of the Big 10 and Big East champions this year and in the top 16. Those are the rules in place and that's why NIU is Orange Bowling.

The Noles didn't exactly impress in the ACC title game, that 6-6 team you were playing had you on the ropes and were driving for the winning score at the end of the 4th quarter.

ESPN has supplied NIU with all kinds of bulletin board material. Know that NIU will be coming into this game with fire breathing out of their nostrils and with all the motivation they need to play their best.

It's not as if FSU is a top 10 ranked team afterall. Just so you know, Ball State (who beat USF) and is the 3-4th best MAC program scored 28 pts on Clemson (who finished 2nd in the ACC) on the road. This game will be far more competitive than you believe.

Pretty sure if our QB had the same stats as Jordan Lynch two things would have happened:

1. FSU would be undefeated and in the National Championship Game
2. FSU would have their 3rd Heisman Trophy winner.

Games aren't played just in XBOX...gotta get on the field and I am the first to say that FSU has done less with more talent than any other college.

FSU can play down to competition and Jimbo tends to call a tighter game the more we are favored. USF is much worse than NIU and we only beat them by 13 points. While FSU has that "talent gap"..lol..it does not equate to an easy win or a win at all.

And just so you know, USF lost to Ball State which is the 3-4th best team in the MAC. This game will be tighter than many realize. Ball State also scored 28 on Clemson(2nd best ACC team)

As has been mentioned, after NIU beat Alabama they bought out of the 2nd contest so that should tell you something about the respect that Alabama has for at least some teams in the MAC.

Yes but Clemson still scored 52 in that game and actually Ball State only scored 27. Is 52-27 keeping it close? Not trying to start more trouble, just that common opponents rarely give you insight into the outcome of any game.
