You can just hear them scheduling official visits elsewhere now. You know opposing coaches are having a field day with this.

Just caught up with Butch Jones. "Torn" between Colorado and the #Bearcats. Decision in next 24 hours. Disappointed in reports.
Bla bla bla, make a decision and get it over with. It's ridicilous at this point. If he's soooo disappointed, then he wouldn't still be considering it. It was leaked, falsely or not, by someone at CU. They allowed photographers follow him around on campus during the interview. It's a bush league program, plain and simple, that is run by unprofessional dbags who are desperate to convince themselves they aren't a bottom tier operation. When you lay that on top of the fact it's a total rebuild that will take 4-5 years to even get back to mediocre, it's even worse.
Taking that job has career suicide written all over it.

At least they can still bail; too late for CBJ's surrogate "family" of players.

UC has been Kerry's destination HC job for many years and he would be a great "face of the program". He knows he would have to surround himself with a strong staff and if he were here we would not be going through this merry go round every 3 years.
I hope he is our next man in as do several current and former players so I hope some of you "fans" can get past what ever personal problems you seem to have with him.
AMEN !!!
I was SO pissed last year when I heard he was leaving. I couldn't stand to hear his name or read the boards. All I could think was "of all places... to$u" !!!
Personally I would love for Kerry to come back as HC, but there are people who can evaluate that much better than us idiots on a message board!!

If you guys spent this much time working to improve your marriages & relationships, spending meaningful time with your kids, or thinking of new ways to get even wealthier, you wouldn't give the "will-he-stay-or-will-he-go-now?", more than one or two look-sees a day.
You don't see Chatter or Lush posting on here all day long.
Chatter is just busy posting elsewhere and Lush as no wife kids or does he appear to have much else to do beyond dabbling in mind altering substances.
But I'll admit driving home from work and hitting refresh on the iPhone at red lights made me think..."this is pathetic...I'll never do this again over a ******* football coach." but then again the word "fan" comes from "fanataci" right?

Anyone have the whereabouts of the BOTs? I hope they're locked in a room with Ono as they're hashing out Nippert financing plans. A counteroffer that doesn't include Nippert expansion shouldn't take this long.

They'll get laid anywhere -- they want play for a quality program and a coach who will lead them to greatness, not a guy who looks, at this point, like the befuddled dude holding up the drive thru line debating between the chicken sandwich and the double cheeseburger.

RE: Denver Post reporting Butch Jones accepts offer to be Colorado's football coach
Either stay -or- GTFO.
I'm sick of this crap, being strung along like a 2nd grader trying to learn some secret.
Stay and continue to grow a successfull program with nothing but a bright future -or- go to the mountains and fail at a program that hasn't been relavent for almost a decade.
Hawkins was plucked away after BSU landed itself in the national spotlight, and now look at his fortunes - big payday yes, but fired after dismal performance. The previous coach was brought in to fix what Hawkins left, yet he was never given the chance, 2 years and out. The current team could only win 1 game, and was not even competitive in their league games and losing to some really bad out of conference opponents. With the talent level that's there now - no matter who Butch or any other coach brings in - it's at best 3 years until they could possibly be competitive. Apparantly, 3 years may be too long, just ask the guy they just fired. To get that program back to where they were with McCartney and the late 90's teams, they would have to hire a Saban like coach, and Butch quite frankly is not on that level.
As for UC, if they match and promise facility upgrades - we as fans can't ask for much else, they did what they could to try and keep him. UC will go on, UC replaced Kelly and did ok, UC can replace Butch as well.
We just need to wait and see how this CF unfolds.

RE: Denver Post reporting Butch Jones accepts offer to be Colorado's football coach
Meh - if he wanted to coach for Colorado he would have accepted the job and called it a day. The fact that he is still hanging out means he isn't gung ho about leaving for Colorado.
If he wants MAJOR promises from UC and the BOT regarding salary, facilities etc - it is critical they think he has already accepted another offer and is packing his bags to leave.
Personally I don't think he isn't struggling too much with this. If UC comes to him with $$$ and a serious building plan, he would rather stay.
Why?
1. He could have accepted and resigned already. If he really wanted the Colorado job he would have done that cleanly, yesterday.
2. Colorado is a half step above "shi**y job" and couldn't be a worse fit forhim. Going there makes zero sense.
IMO Jones is hoping to get what he wants out of UC. What that means and whether or not he gets UC to give it s another story.

Butch is gone. Espn is reporting that Colorado has agreed to a contract and Butch is only denying that the details are final. He is gone. Everyone move to the next coach thread.

Colorado won 1 game this year. A one point nailbiter to another bad team. They lost to a FCS school at home. Look at some of these losses--- 70-14, 69-14, 50-6, 51-17....this is arguably the worst team in all the FBS. Butch is seriously having a hard time figuring this out???
Colorado State LOSS 22-17
Sacremento State LOSS 30-28
Fresno State LOSS 69-14
Washington State WON 35-34
UCLA Bruins LOSS 42-14
Arizona State LOSS 51-17
USC LOSS 50-6
Oregon LOSS 70-14
Stanford LOSS 48-0
Arizona LOSS 56-31
Washington LOSS 38-3
Utah LOSS 42-35

I think this is spot on. Just can't figure out why there'd be a two going on three day delay in simply accepting and going to CU. makes no sense. Only logical conclusion is he'd prefer to stay here if certain conditions are met and he's waiting to see if that does.

Well, I've been lead to believe by an excellent source that a plan for major bucks to do work on Nippert is winding it's way through the upper echelons of UC and I think they can free up enough spare change to up the salary, so based on your thoughts, I guess he's staying.

So, press conference tomorrow?

I hope your source is good. Because this would be really really good news. Above keeping the coach we'd be moving the program forward by upgrading the Nip. That will help the program going forward. I love nippert, but we need to make it first rate if we want to be big time and want to be in a major conference going forward.

Who was it who mocked earlier about Lebron's "The Decision"? This is now more absurd.
