Doesn't matter who they beat. You gotta look at the big picture and the direction this conference is going longterm in the future. You gotta look at Athletic budget, endowment, location, facilities, fan base etc. There were much better options out there. No reason to smooth is over to try and make it feel better.

can't be done, 76.. we need that championship game for our TV contract. Basically, we _have_ to move quickly at any point we drop to 12..

Correct. We needed a school ready to play.

MTSU seems a lot like us. Surprised they weren't chosen the first time around.

Football: Bowl games in 2006, 2009, 2010, and will be 2012. Conference titles in 2001 and 2006. Only Belt team to ever get three at large bowl bids. Big $ix wins include Vandy x3, Maryland x2, GA Tech.

M Basketball: Fresh off 27-7 season and NIT appearance (ask Marshall) with 4-1 start including a win over UCF. We've hit our stride after 8-9 years of 16-19 win basketball.

W Basketball: Titles in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2012. Four straight NCAA appearances and 8 of the last 9.

Baseball, Volleyball, Men's Golf, Women's Soccer are all extremely competitive, all with multiple championships over the past few years.

What I'm sayin' is, we expect to win. Immediately.

What is your football record against Memphis and all other CUSA schools? Just curious, not a big deal for me.

against Memphis 16-8-1

UCF 0-1-0 last played 1999
La Tech 1-3-0 last played 2000
Marshall 0-2-0 last played 1994 (we were 1-AA)
UNT 5-7-0
FIU 5-3-0
Southern Miss 1-0-0 Last Played 2009
Tulsa 0-1-0 last play 1993 (we were 1-AA)
UAB 1-2-0 Last Played 2000

and FYI WKU 33-29-1

They were reportedly one of the "fifth" teams, if ODU or Charlotte turned down the offer to come in.

We started a five game series with Memphis in 2007 (no game in '08). Through five games, we're 4-1. The only other CUSA team we've played in the last 6 or so years is Southern Miss in the 2009 New Orleans Bowl. Won that also.

Don't care if some Marshall fans aren't impressed. They'll get theirs just like they did last year in the NIT. 04-cheers

The only thing we lack out of those things you listed is endowment. I am fairly certain our athletic budget is bigger than Marshall's. Facilities are at least on par with CUSA's. Nashville area. One of, if not the biggest overall fanbase in the Belt.

I know I won't convince you and I don't need to, but your argument doesn't make much sense.

Yeah me too. I wouldn't trade ECU for MTSU if I had the choice, but I don't and they're the best all-sports grab out there.

They're a better program than Tulane.

I'd say facilities are among the best in CUSA.

Football stadium is "right-sized" in my opinion. Basketball arena looks very nice. Baseball stadium does as well.

Is that the same football stadium that you had back in the 90's or early 2000's when we played you and/or has it been upgraded?

Seemed like a 2 sided stadium without the ends.

Nice facilities and a painless road trip up I-65. No serious complaints from this UAB fan.
