Progar and Sims MAC players of the week
http://www.mac-sports.com/News/tabid/969...-Week.aspx

Defensive Player of the Week: Northern Illinois DE Sean Progar
Senior defensive end Sean Progar (Glenview, Ill.) had a career high three sacks, the most by any Huskie player this season, for losses totaling 19 yards, in Northern Illinois 48-34 win over Western Michigan. Progar had seven tackles, including a season-best five solo stops, in the game. His first two sacks contributed directly to defensive stops. He had two sacks in the critical fourth quarter, when the Huskie defense shut down Western Michigan’s offense, allowing the Huskies to take the lead.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Northern Illinois K Mathew Sims
Junior kicker Mathew Sims (Hannibal, Mo.) scored 12 points and kicked 49 and 54 yard field goals in a 48-34 win over Western Michigan. Sims put his name in the Huskie record books as he booted a school-record 54-yard field goal on the last play of the first half to close the Northern Illinois deficit to 21-17. Sims’ kick was 10 yards longer than his previous career high. In the fourth quarter, Sims added the second-longest field goal of his career when he made a 49-yard three to extend Northern Illinois’ lead back to 21 points at 48-27 with 4:52 remaining in the game. Sims scored 12 points with six PATs in addition to the two long field goals.

I guess Lynch can't win it all the time. Progar and Sims are two players I hope make it to the next level and make us proud to be Huskie supporters.

Lynch's game > Tipton's game...should have been a clean sweep.

Yep. Starting to think the MAC higher-ups have decided they don't want Jordan to win too many POTW awards.

How does Sims nail that but leave a 40 yarder short the week before?

Congrats to both, well deserved.

Because Sims is a conundrum wrapped up in an enigma.

You are insulting the Queen's English and are an embarrassment to this board. What you obviously meant to say is that Sims is a condom wrapped up in an enema. Not sure I agree with that, but at least we are now clear. I would appreciate no further misconstruings.

What? I'm not clear at all. I must be misconstructed.

Sean Progar is from Glenview, Ill? The commentators for the WMU game kept saying that he was from "Glenville".
