Get some facts.

The UE rate was 10.7% a year and a half ago. I know you live in Orlando and believe in magic but the rate doesn't go down overnight.

Actually this is the longest recovery since the great depression. Obama has failed. He needs to go back to community organizing.

But it goes down a whole lot faster than this--if there is a legitimate recovery.

The stock market is back! Business is back making big profits. Lots of people are making money. I don't see how Obama is so anti-business.

RE: UE rate down again in Florida.......
So the added regulation, coming implementation of Obamacare, proposed tax increases, etc... are not going to adversely effect you? That would make you somewhat unique as a small business owner as most I know feel it will adversely effect them.

I know a ton of business owners. We all like to complain about the world being against us. I've seen government regulation come and go over the past 15 years. I've learned that many times the impact of government regulations are not seen in the beginning but are always corrected before they are implemented. If they can't be fixed then they are postponed. This is the benefit of having lobbyists. I have a friend in the same business that is freaked out about Obamacare, as long as you understand the rules of the game there is money to be made, even with Obamacare.
There have been a couple regulations that we had to implement recent but they were from previous administrations. Lastly, I'm not really worried about the tax increases, we all knew that they were going up anyway. (Knowing is half the battle) As a small business you can choice to be taxed on the corporate side, business side or both. Both candidates proposed to lower the capital gains rate, Obama proposes to raise the personal rate. This actually gives me a tax cut, but I'll let my CPA worry about that.

What's more important is that at that size you are exempt from the vast majority of federal employment regulations. The kick in anywhere from 15 to 50 employees.

Stay small, my friend, don't dare grow.
Whatever you do, don't dare consider growing over 50. And be careful how you count in staying below that level, because part-time employees can add up. That'll keep you from having to worry about Obamacare.
