Not all Louisville fans are down on the Big East. We want it to succeed, with A new fat contract. We are unhappy with the lack off leadership from past commissioners. What you are seeing in comments from Louisville fans is frustration. We have paid good money, for tickets to games so the Louisville BOT can build up our athletic program, to be competitive with the elite football programs in the country. Now we are very close, to be looking from the outside again an it's not A good feeling. All that hard work for nothing.

And by making that little jab at our fanbase you've set this thread up to be derailed like all the others. I've slammed my fellow fans for their comments but when you make general swipes at the fanbase like this you better be prepared.

FIFY

Kid knew more Big East facts vs most clowns at ESPN.

If Louisville fans are looking for good competition and a great commish, all they need to do is open their eyes...

BSU, Houston, and SMU are all having down years and the rest of the conference is blowing up... Throw BYU in the mix and Louisville's biggest problem will be counting money and game planning against awesome football teams...

Speaking of the clan, if you put in the big east into the Wu-Tang Clan name generator you get "Misunderstood Beggar". If you drop the "the" you get "Intellectual Killah".

p.s. NJRedman is Bittah Commander.

Wu-Tang name generator.

Look, the nBE has potential for sure...but as 74 said very clearly and matter of fact, that is what is coming out of many UL fans including myself. As for the programs in the nBE, speaking for football only I think UL has proven it can be successful under multiple coaches....not saying we are winning national championships or BCS bowls left or right, but just getting to bowls, keeping fans, etc with change of coaches...its too early to tell that with some current programs and some nBE programs, and add in low home attendances and lack of road travel, and those are the facts. We have a hard time getting excited just yet..not to say we won't but its not quiet there yet.

I would advise Louisville fans to simply ignore comments like the one in the OP. It serves no purpose to respond. I'm sure Brista will deal with it if it becomes a problem.

Listen, I could careless about your fanbase. I grew up in NYC, on the big east, BE basketball was religion in our house. Ive been to the tournament and saw Alonzo Mourning, Billy Owens battle. I've been a fan of the Anthony Avents and Terry Dehere, I watched Rick Pitino coached Billy Dovovan and providence to the final four. I just missed the Mark Jackson and Patrick Ewing era but my father spoke of it like it was the mission to the moon. I lived and breathed this conference growing up. I've watched and cheered for this league when Louisville was playing in some rundown stadium on a dirt field ( according to Tom Jackson). You guys make a couple of nice bowls and all of a sudden you're too good for the league.

I for one was happy when you guys got invited to the league and genuinely cheered for you guys. I rooted for you guys against Miami and Kentucky. I called Petrino a traitor like the rest of you when he left. I hated the Kragthorpe era as much as you guys and I cheered when you guys hired Charlie Strong. Until this year, I rooted for louisville to do well as I did for every other BE team. But as I've said, i'm from NYC, we value loyalty and respect, and there is a sense of pride here you won't find in many other cities. We stand up for our own against all others and once you attack one, you're the enemy of all. This city is fiercely loyal, its in our blood. So when your fanbase start bashing the league after we gave you a bigger stage and brighter spotlight it a slap in the face to all the fans who root for this conference. And to so openly bash the conference when you guys did nothing for 3 years to help, you failed to see your contribution to the state the conference is in. And then after a 7-6 season, all of a sudden you're better than everyone else? Enjoy whatever success you're having now, as the Kragthorpe era shows, cellar dweller is just a bad coaching hire around the corner.

I'll help you guys out:

1. Best BBall, period, and don't forget the exclusive MSG deal that will be extended for 10 years.

2. Better on the gridiron than half the 'Gay 5'.

I don't care what anyone says, wait till BSU starts rolling again and BYU hops on board, this conference will be turning some heads, kicking some as/see, and laughing all the way to the bank...

I assure you guys: once the gang gets together, we'll emerge as something much better than any other BE configuration before - I sincerely mean that. The national configuration will yield benefits no one ever thought possible, and will be looked upon as an incredibly innovative move after we get out from under ESPN's boot.

Hell, UL, BSU, Cincy, Rutgers, BYU, or UConn can play with anyone, and I'll bet my car that BSU makes a playoff game before Patti Graduates; we just had the best recruiting year ever - the young talent is absurd...

Not enough? Wait until teams like SMU, UCF, Houston, and SDSU start receiving big boy funding; add it up - hot beds of recruiting + improved facilities + new established friends = waking the sleeping giants...

This conference has every damn reason in the world to be incredibly optimistic about the future; once you guys realize the glass is half-full, you'll find out we actually have an entire keg on tap, ready to go!!

04-cheers :dirtyvegas: 04-cheers

Uh last year was their first winning season in like 4 years. They were dwelling in the gellar with Cuse big time for a few seasons. They lost something like 6 games in a row to Pitt.

We have lost 4 straight to Pitt, not 6. Prior to our losing streak against them we had beaten them in 8 straight meetings. BTW we had a winning season in 2010 as well as last year. Sorry that upsets you to hear.

Get over yourself...seriously...lol
Yea, gotta say I love his pride for the BE, but Louisville sure as hell won't be in any cellar. LOL!

Uh last year was their first winning season in like 4 years. They were dwelling in the gellar with Cuse big time for a few seasons. They lost something like 6 games in a row to Pitt.

Fair enough....

...but, I really don't think the cellar's in the Cards any time soon...

See what I did there?
