I thought it was UNC and not NCSU.

yep, my mistake.

And Miami (FL) may be back of the NCAA radar as they are making news which is not good.

Yeah, they need to sitout a year before becoming bowl eligible. Correct?

I thought the original poster just meant schools on probation. Those would be Penn State, Ohio State, and North Carolina, as mentioned above, unless Miami is on probation too.

If you want to include new FBS programs as well, that means UMass, South Alabama, Texas State, and UTSA. Their moves have swollen FBS from 120 to 124 football programs.

Agree.

MAC might have problems getting a B1G team in Detroit but may find more at large bowl bids as some big name programs get themselves on the NCAA's s*it list.

The B1G commish has to be s*itting having two of his biggest name schools ineligible for bowls.

Apparently Charley thinks that if there aren't enough bowl eligible teams, UMass would get a shot, assuming they won enough games. Is this true? Link

IF UMass wins 6 or more games this year, President Emmert will call for an investigation. 03-lmfao

Only helps if Penn St, Ohio St, UCF, North Carolina, and any other school that is not bowl eligible actually wins 6 or more games.

If UCF wins 5 or less games, it prolly doesn't benefit the MAC.

However, if all 4 of those teams get to 6 wins...we could see 5 or 6 MAC teams bowling...(obviously there are a lot of scenerios that need to get worked out this fall)

At least three of those teams will make it to 6 wins.

Penn State - Won't do it, I don't think they will be a functional team once the mass exedous begins

UCF should *easily* heck they may have competed for a CUSA title this season

Ohio State - Should hit six without too much difficulty

North Carolina... I don't even know enough about them to speculate..

I'm going to disagree on PSU.

They will be high on adrenalin this year and won't be hurting too much on talent.

I suspect they will lose say 6 - 8 returnees by August 6 and that isn't enough to effect them too much.

It might be 2013, but probably 2014, when the new LOI scholarship limitations is starting to really effect the program.

PSU will not be able to redshirt the way they have in the past.

This is when they will start to develop problems with shortages in certain positions and opponents will be able to exploit it.

IMO, Penn St is looking at losses vs Ohio St, @ Nebraska, and vs Wisconsin.

They should get wins against the following: Navy, Temple, Ohio, Indiana, and @ Iowa.

I realize Temple has played them tough recently and I also know that Ohio is capable of getting a win...but I just don't see either happening.

That leaves them at 5-3 with toss up games @ Virginia, @ Illinois, Northwestern, and @ Purdue.

They should be able to win one, or more, of those games. 3 of them are on the road...but I still see a bowl eligible team in Happy Valley this year.

I think UCF was expected to be very good this year, and possibly contend for the C-USA division title.
