Toledo won one game by forfeit. Is that included in the 8?

I would.

At least he didn't include the three "Glass Bowl" wins.

Doesn't include the 1984 California Bowl forfeit by UNLV.

The one that got away from Ball State was that 1996 Vegas Bowl. Late in the game a Cards receiver got behind the Wolfpack defense, free and clear, should not have happened; and QB throws a perfect pass that goes right through receiver's bread basket. Still bothers me.

Sucks - Toledo and Miami have won more bowl games than we've played.

Big opportunity for the Broncos this season. Very favorable MAC home schedule.

Not sure about each team but Toledo has been in 12 bowls.........this is just counting real bowls and not the other division games or 2nd rate bowls like the old Glass Bowl game.

Toledo is 8-3, with the 12th game being that game against UNLV. Toledo lost the game, and it wasn't even close. But UNLV was later found to have used several ineligible players throughout the season and had to forfeit several games, including the bowl game. I'm not counting that game as a win or loss. All of Toledo's bowl losses are within the last 10 years, going 2-3 in that span. (The 2001 bowl win is not counted here since that was 11 years ago)

We also lost the Tangerine Bowl in 1962 to houston 49-21, so 7-3 overall.

Ohio 1-5 bowl record, but has played in bowls last three seasons and 4 in last 6 seasons. Ohio has made three MAC title games in last 6 years.

RE: MAC Bowl Wins
Used to be big deal when MAC team got a bowl game, a point of pride.

Now there are so many of them, and so many are "small time," it's almost embarassing.

I'm a big MAC booster but how does a divisional third-place, 6-6 (or even 7-5) MAC team deserve a bowl game?

They used to be reward for outstanding season. Now it's for being mediocre or slightly above average in one of lowest ranked FBS conferences.

Hit the nail right on the head...I feel the same way...but try to come at it like its good for the players to experience...that's what I try to do (doesn't always work, though). The only thing worse than what you describe is that there are people who actually complain when more of our "eligible" teams don't make a bowl...lol...and say it with a straight face!

I'm not even a MAC fan, but I'll summarize it for you based on the info at CFBdatawarehouse (which is an EXCELLENT site btw and i've used it for years, I wish there was a CBB equivalent too).

Akron - 0-1
Ball State - 0-5
Bowling Green - 4-5
Buffalo - 0-1
Central Michigan - 2-4
Eastern Michigan - 1-0
Kent State - 0-1
Massachusetts - No appearances, first year in FBS.
Miami (OH) - 7-2 or (7-3?), there was a 1962 Tangerine Bowl loss to Houston that is classified as an "other" bowl, and I'm not sure why.
Northern Illinois - 4-3
Ohio - 1-5
Toledo - 8-4, 1984 California Bowl - UNLV forfeits, but apparently the record books didn't change it as a win or a loss. UNLV won the game on the field though.
Western Michigan - 0-5

Any Miami and Toledo fans want to clear up the confusion involving their bowl records?

I drove up from LA back in 1984 to see that game... UNLV had some pretty good talent (Randall Cunningham, Ickey Woods)... Total yardage was actually fairly close, but the Runnin Rebels busted out on some early big plays... Bulldog Stadium is also a great venue for football... Was there for the 1982 win over a ranked San Jose State...

Toledo's record book lists '84 Cal Bowl as a Rocket victory.

As for Miami and '62 loss to Houston, Tangerine was not recognized as a "major bowl game" until 1968.
