don't worry...i've had mucho experience dealing with the jacksonville gumps last year when they tried to proclaim they invented the foolsball on the ovc message board.

i'm just as loved on that board by the murray state hoops faithful. we all go way back, and then all the gomers from jax found it and proceeded to try to dogpile me.

and what's really sad is they can't even win the ovc which is a really, really weak fcs conference. at least the murray faithful do win the hoops while they're talking smack.

the jax gumps even dedicated a thread to me on the ovc board. they named it 'worst poster on ovcfans.com'

i won in a landslide. i was fighting a two pronged attack keeping the jax gumps and murray retirees at bay at the same time.

p.s. my signature was in response to a troy poster basically using scripture to ensure troy gump victories in his siggy. i can't remember which one. i'll be glad to kill it now as it has no reference.

what's great is i didn't start anything with them. they, and the rest of the ovc were having a wonderful time when we lost to isu telling me how bad the sun belt was and 'according to sagarin' we'd be 7th place or something in the ovc.

but as we turned our season around and they once again could not win the ovc....i only heard <crickets> about sagarin ratings.

it has to be really hard for them to have seen troy have success at the fbs level....witness south al sliding right in to the fbs level and they're left out in the cold.

fcs football is not a big deal...good or bad...in the commonwealth of kentucky but i'd say it causes a nose to turn up down in 'bammer just cause that is the #1 sport down yonder.

from what i read they have good attendance and fan support but i just don't see ya'll (the state of alabammer) working in another fbs school.

that has to suck.

I think that is exactly why JSU hates Troy so much. We made the moves necessary to establish ourselves and we have prospered at the FBS level because of it.

Their administration sat on their collective hands, and now they are stuck at a level of play few pay attention to with little hope of ever moving up.

I 100% agree with you on the first part, and it does suck that we didn't have a vision back then. We do have a vision now, but you won't see us coming up for a few years... Trust me, it was very hard to see you guys do what you did when we just weren't doing anything about US. And...we do want out of the OVC...
