Public Opinion on Candidates
OK, so since it appears we will be adding some FCS programs to the membership, which of the following would you be most in favor of?

Texas State. Like the stadium upgrade to 30k. Keeps us in TX. 45 miles from San Antonio Airport and 30 miles from Austin Airport.

Agreed. I see so much potential in Texas State. That's EXACTLY the kind of school that I'd pick if I could pick one.

Biased, but nothing would get things heated like introducing a GA State vs Southern game every year to GA. App State and Southern already hate each other but in a good way.

For so much potential, Texas State was never a successful FCS program for many years. Sometimes potential is......well......only potential.

They traveled to Boone in 2004 and they did not impress. The best year they have had in a long while was in 2005 where they made it to the semi finals.

Markets don't matter in FCS because it's FCS. In FBS markets mean during any successful season bandwagon fans will be available and you can charge most the city for them to be on TV.
But for me Texas State because they would easily get games with big schools once they get a bigger stadium.

If you're going to list schools like GA Southern that have no chance of getting an FBS invite, you might as well list schools that have at least more money: Jax. State, Liberty, College of Charleston (I mean, common, who wouldn't want to go to Charleston?).

But they are making the needed improvements NOW and they are not in the middle of nowhere.

Good for them......they are WAC bound (while it is still around), I would hope they are making improvements. I was only speaking to the potential aspect, since the answer is yes they haven't lived up to any of it.

Give it a rest please. Georgia Southern is far more appealing than any of those you listed.

We were attempting to answer the GA State inferiority complex toward Southern in the other thread.

I didn't use Jax State because they have zero chance of getting in to the Conference.

Last time I checked.......do I really need to go there again with you?
Don't make me or any of the Southern posters talk about championships, key wins, playoff games, winning seasons, attendence figures, NFL players, or your schools losses to Div 2's, NAIAs and lack of support......just stop right there, you are in a market that is all.
Key word is ahead, b/c people have been talking and you might be seeing one or both soon......that's the word on the street, and no he wasn't handing out free brochures for money on your campus.

1. App State
2. Texas State
3. Georgia Southern
4. La Tech
*Note* UTSA gets invite over all 4 teams if they are passed up by alliance.
*Note 2* App State gets immediate invitation if MTSU leaves to cover some travel issues. Might consider moving WKU to the West if this happens, as their closest rival would then become either ASU or GSU.
