SOAF is pretty old I believe.

But as I mentioned on the rich thing...isn't everyone basically going to say they aren't rich since the American philosophy is almost always to want more wealth?

How bout we define "rich" as Obama does. Household income over 250k? (though I'd argue that is still very much middle class.

And I'm still not rich.

Rather difficult to call household income over 250K as middle class when that's in the top 2% nationally.

Middle class should be near the middle. Hence the name "middle class."

It's been my experience that most liberal minded progressives are college educated city dwellers.

conservative minded people are high school educated from small towns.

If you make approximately 47k a year you are in the top 1% of wage earners in the world. You call that rich?

Being in the "middle" of a graph doesn't make you middle class. When I say Middle class I'm thinking more a lifestyle designation.

No I call that deflection. We were not talking about the rest of the world.

It was an arbitrary term to begin with. There are no specific criteria to be "middle class."

I was illustrating a point. One that clearly escapes you.

I'm not reinventing boo boo. Middle class and middle income are not the same thing. You can't make them mean the same thing to suit your own agenda.

Read up

Quote:Jared Bernstein, chief economist and economic policy adviser to the vice president (Biden), wrote this on the Middle Class Task Force Blog:

I think it’s important for us to use a broad definition of "middle class" that encompasses the various levels of middle class. The Census Bureau tells us that the median household income—the income of the household smack in the middle of the income scale—is about $50,000, so that’s certainly got to be considered a middle-class income. But a more comprehensive definition must go a lot further. My boss, the Vice President, often describes the "middle class" as any family that can’t afford to miss more than two or three paychecks without financial difficulty. Given job market turmoil, that’s an awfully timely way to think about the question. It used to be that the middle class was able to achieve the American dream of owning a decent home in a safe neighborhood with a good public school, having access to affordable health care, saving for college and retirement, and enjoying the occasional meal out, movie, and vacation. The problem is that many middle class families are no longer able to achieve this dream. The task force will focus on making the American dream accessible again to the middle class.

Move along now.

If you're going to make up stuff, at least make it plausible. You just make up random silly crap that is indefensible.

I didn't make anything up boo boo.

Middle Income and Middle Class are not the same thing.

Jared Bernstein, chief economist and economic policy adviser to vice president Biden clearly shares that same viewpoint.

Your post makes absolutely no sense. Now granted, I know you're embarrassed that you were exposed in your attempt to be a d0uche. No one ever likes that. Don't compound it by not shutting up and moving on. You only hurt yourself.
