Next Year's Football Recruits
Dear Friends,
Some of you have probably noticed, but if you haven't, Scout.com is starting to show possible recruits for the 2013 signing. As of this moment, Rivals and ESPN are still showing the class of 2012 commits.

that is correct although a lot will not look twice at EMU.

I believe UofM has somewhere around 10 or so verbals.

Last I heard U of M has 11 verbals already and 8 of them last Saturday. LOL All 8 verbals were in the top 200.

RE: Next Year's Football Recruits
Dear Dennis,

As you know, players are now being ranked and the big boys (e.g., UofM) are scooping up with top talent.

We will NOT know the MAC caliber talent until summer after the players get evaluated by the bigger schools.

MAC recruiting doesn't get serious until those summer camps and the recruits/schools do their evaluations.

Spending time on MAC recruiting now is a waste of time.

Joyner has little chance of qualifying.

Dear emu steve,
I do agree with you about MAC recruiting especially this time of year, however, I can't remember a recruitment service starting this early. Remember, it's still February.
In regards to the big boys, I could care less, especially U-M.
As far as Eastern is concerned, I don't think they ever got a verbal any earlier than July or thereabouts.

I think EMU's recruiting year begins when we get the first verbal.

I believe June was the month for this past recruiting season.

I think most of U of M's recruits are from down South and I know they got 2 from the Columbus area as well.

It isn't UofM per se except that UofM could read: "any BCS program'. That is the point.

The bigger point is:

"MAC-caliber recruits don't make decisions in the winter of their junior year's"

THEY WAIT!!!

Year in and year out MSU does. Only 5 of the 11 U of M recruits are instate.

EMU 79, ONLY 5 of 11 are in state? so basically half is in state? For a national recruiting base school, I'd say that is rather high for this stage of the recruiting process. I'd say thats owning the state recruiting.( To this point, still a whole year left)

RE: Next Year's Football Recruits
I suggest you look at five years of MSU classes and U of M classes and do the instate vs out of state percentages.

Now lets us return to a discuss about EMU sports shall we?

I agree with Steve its way too early for posting 2013 recruiting targets. Lets wait until this summer after EMU and others have had their camps.

Thanks for your suggestion, oh smug one.

I'm not interested in talking about where Rich Rodriguez recruited. How about if we talk about where Bobby Williams did his damage?

Save your MSU propaganda BS for another forum.

Exactly. Same deal this past year, too.

It seems we've imported some of the M Live crowd here lately. Let me make a suggestion. Immature name calling usually doesn't help you make your point. In this case I merely pointed out the point you made was wrong. Its not progaganda just a fact.

You go ahead and tell yourself whatever you need to.

And I've been on this site for quite some time. Another factual error by you.

Dear Friends,
If someone wants to compare U -M to Eastern in anything, that's okay, but somewhat bragging about U - M and how they are doing is not for this board. If you are a Wal-marter..... fine, just keep it to yourself. Let's concentrate on Eastern and how we are doing.
