Gingrich up Big in Florida
The first post SC Florida poll is out and Gingrich is up Big on Romney. This is funny if for no other reason the GOP establishment has to be crapping themselves over this. Look for lots of negative attacks on Newt for the next few weeks and more big name endorsements for Romney. Again if the GOP had went big with their pick, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, etc. this would not be an issue now, instead they repeat their pattern of NEXT.

Insider Advantage has Gigrich with 34% , Romney 26%, Paul 13%, and Santoram 11%. The GOP establishment would choke on that result. Although I believe based on money and statewide organization the smart money is still on Romney

All true. I have spent a lot of time in Florida (Panhandle + Tampa Bay) over the years and I just don't see any way for Gingrich to win that. I'm not speaking out of animosity to Newt; on the contrary, I will probably vote for him myself in the Georgia primary on March 6th. It's just I would be absolutely shocked if he wins Florida next Tuesday. If he does, I repeat my earlier vow to take 6 months off from the Spin Room (and all the other political boards on this website, too). That's how stunned I would be.

"Early voting" and/or absentee voting actually started in Florida about 3-4 weeks ago, and some reports indicated about 200,000 ballots had been postmarked on or before Saturday the 21st (day of the S.C. primary). I would wager that Romney may have won fully 50%+ of those ballots.

Not only are the negative ads starting by Romney, NBC is trying to dig up dirt on Gingrich, questioning some campaign spending.

Nothing reported by the MSM will have any effect on Gingrich *right* *now*.

Long-term damage, sure. But unless he literally murdered a pregnant girlfriend or something like that, there is no way that "New" stories that are suddenly "Revealed" by Brian Williams or whoever is going to influence the decision of Florida Republicans in the next 8 days.

And even the Kennedys couldn't get away with it in this era.
