Wow, good luck to both of them I guess. Seems like Nate Davis all over again for both.

Naa pierce is a solid prospect page????? I don't quite get.
Page is one of those guys whos size is not a hindrance in the NCAA but might be in the NFL.
Nate Davis? I was never really sold on him as a pro QB...

Page has always been told he was too small. He has something to prove. I hope he succeeds.

Page is listed at 5-10 I think, but he's more like 5-8 1/2 or maybe 5-9. Not sure of his 40 time, but it isn't great. He's not the fastest on Toledo's team. But he has football speed. Put him in pads and with a football and he is much faster than you would expect from his 40 time. That's because he really doesn't slow down with pads and a football in his hand, and most football players do slow down.
I personally thought Page should stay for one more year, but I wish him well. Toledo's offense is going to be a question going into the fall. The two main play makers were Page and Adonis Thomas. Thomas was a senior and now Page is going pro too. Some of that young receiver talent Toledo has is going to have to step up big time.

Pierce entering is a calculated risk. Page entering is a gamble.

Actually, in the FWIW category, Nate Davis (BSU grad) played very well in his NFL preseason games after being drafted in the 5th round (by Oakland I think). He made the 53 man cut, but Coach Singletary didn't like his work ethic and picked up another QB after the final cuts and released Davis, who knocked around a couple of other NFL stops (practice squad) before going to the Arena League.

Eric can cut without slowing down. The kid will be another Lance Moore, or Wes Welker in the NFL. Best of Luck. Gotta succeed without him.

RE: Page joins Pierce
Sounds like he took some advice from Omar Jacobs?
Page may make an NFL team, but I don't see him playing much as a wideout, which will limit his draft stock.

Same height, weight, stats as Antonio Brown who also came out as a junior. I met AB when he was here and I looked down to him, and I am 5'10."

I wonder if Davis would have fared better with Harbaugh as coach instead of Singletary. Probably not, but Harbaugh seems to get more out of the same players.

RE: Page joins Pierce
As someone else brought up, Antonio Brown isn't very big either. Page could play the exact same role (KR, PR, WR) that Brown does.
Nonetheless, i am glad. No longer have to watch Page and Thomas destroy our team.

RE: Page joins Pierce
Brown's receiver skills were much more polished than Page when it comes to the down field passing game of the NFL.
Page does well when in the open field, but the DB's in the NFL won't be standing by while he catches passes like in college. NFL receivers have to be able to jump and battle for passes and that's just not in Page's game right now as most of his receiving yards came from yards after the catch.
It will all depend on how high a team wants to burn a pick on someone most suited as a kick returner.

Pretty much what they said about Antonio:
Brown is just 5-10, but does not have blazing speed. Obviously he can evade defenders and make things happen, but NFL teams want to see more speed or size from a wide receiver. Yet, that will not stop Brown from being a quality returnman right away and a possible third or fourth receiver on some teams. It may take a little time for him to adjust to an NFL offense, but give Brown the ball in space and he will make plays. That should keep him in the fourth or fifth round at the latest.
