Future of JagsJungle.com
Hi Everyone,

I know everyone has been waiting to find out what the final disposition of our website is going to be. Well, as of today it is official that both Rivals and 247 Sports have decided to not invite us aboard at this time.
The answer is simply that we don't currently have the numbers of fans that they desire to populate one of their sites. Eventually I'm sure that will happen as USA football grows and adds more South Alabama fans to the internet, but right now we're just not there.
With that in mind, we are having an independent site created that will be very similar to what we are used to from the Scout.com days. Hopefully we'll have it up and running in just a few more days, although it will certainly be getting tweaks for a while.
It will have a subscription-based system and an insider message board. The cost will be much cheaper than any of the networks, which is only fair since you won't have access to other information like you would with them. Those who have subscriptions with Scout will be given six-month subscriptions to the new JagsJungle.com as well.
The main purpose of the subscriptions/insider board is not to suck as much cash as possible from Jag fans, but to form a very limited group of people who will have a vested interest in not sharing information that is not for public consumption.
I appreciate everyone's patience and I'm sure that we can rebuild ourselves into an even better online community very quickly on the new site.
Stay tuned and we'll let you know when we're ready to begin receiving guests.

Thank you is a relatively easy thing to say, so thank you! I'm sure we'll all enjoy it as we have before.
You do a wonderful job with it and I have no problems guessing that it will continue to thrive.

Thanks for the heads up AJ. Is building a new board a better option than staying here for the time being?

I think so. Many expressed a comfort level with the Scout.com look and we can do something similar to that. Plus there we can publish stories again and have our own prospect lists.

Looking forward to the new and improved JagsJungle Mr. AJ. You've answered some of our concerns It will be good for us to get together on a more private board. This bbs thing is just not adequate for our needs. To me it's bush league and I'll be happy to see us leave.

wow that's pretty harsh towards the good people of ncaabbs.com who took us in while Scout threw us on the street. Maintaining a message board like this is no easy task.

AJ, do you think you'll have a feature like this board (the little green arrow) does to go to the last post read in each thread? I find it to be very convenient. Thanks :-)

And I don't get the issue people have with it. I like the setup and the various little features.

Like the little icon losing his lunch? Actually not worth worrying about as Jags Jungle will have it's own site. Time to move on.

I didn't get into these forums before the announcement of the football team. Jags Jungle was the first site that I found after searching through Rivals. I'd never heard of this board before the 2010 season. It gives me a headache to look at. I can only stay on here for short intervals. I don't like the ads stuck between threads, I don't like the background color, and there is too much going on.

I don't think some of you realize that the new JagsJungle.com will have a message board much like this (myBB or vBulletin are the two most-used message board modules.)

I don't see any ads on my view.

That might be the difference between Firefox and IE. I use Firefox and don't see ads.

i hate to give you an uncertain answer....but I'm not certain. There will be feature alerting you to new posts, so maybe that will be what you're looking for.
