RE: Freeze's stock is going through the roof
Freeze is gonna be a HARD get if at all right now, But he is on the list TrUeTh....We also would keep our current recruits IF we also got someone like Paul Petrino, Tim Walton, Jim Leavitt.....Just sayin.....And Dawson is more likely a CB and the next Deion Sanders type back there....Instead of Prime time Sanders, its will be more like ShowTime Dawson....The World Is Ours Memphis....

Dude, stop with the comparisons. He's no Neon Dion. Just like Will Barton is no Penny. He's not even good enough to put on Penny's underwear, much less his shoes.

Fichtner recruited and coached DeAngelo.
So what? You're living in the past. Fichtner has NO head coaching experience. It's different from going from the guy drawing up plays to the guy making all the calls in the end. BIG difference.
I get that you don't want or like Freeze, which tells me you don't want to win and keep the recruits. But the guy has done more in one single year than Porter did in two. Only a biased homer would see it differently.
Freeze has never recruited anyone. Only a fool would see it differently.
You have no clue about Coach Freeze.

The next school who hires freeze will definitely pay too much.

I'm not sold on Hugh Freeze. I know people who've played under him at the collegiate level. They don't speak too highly.
He's full of himself and thinks he's worth $1,000,000+.
Everything I've seen and heard points to him being am egomaniac.

Larry Porter may well be too inexperienced to serve as a D1 head football coach but stupid he is not. If you want to insult the guy why not be a man about it and do it face to face?

The only thing as an ASU fan that worries me about Freee right now is that his success is very Houston Nutt like. With the only exception that Freeze actually knows football. Ive been over the negatives before for any perpsective school. Only 2 current recruits of his as a HC are actually earning significant playing time this year. He has no experience, and despite a previous assertion of a rag tag group of low leve players, ASU has always had a decent talent level, but they had no idea how to learn. The team figured it out in a long road trip to Bowling Green and Monroe, and has been out of this world since.
I also have deep rooted concers about coaches who appear to be job hunting in his first year, although Jimmy Sexton job hunts for all his clients.
Ill know more about him after next season, ASU has most of the offense back, but none of the defense. (And yes, as of now I am predicting he stays around, unless USM comes after him.)

RE: Freeze's stock is going through the roof
People still talk to spaz? Freeze may be a good coach but can he recruit? TOGC is correct that Freeze is unproven in that area. You've gotta have both. Fichtner is a proven recruiter and ran the most prolific offense our university has had. Can he handle head coaching duties? Who knows. But i'd take Fichtner. Knows the program and knows what it takes to win here. He'd probably stay longer than Freeze too.

Red flag. Red flag.

Ficthner > Freeze, IMO, but both would be solid for us.

You are really starting to look like a total idiot on the matter. Freeze took a rag tag bunch of low level players at ASU to a 9-2 record. I don't think we will get him, but if we do, we will go to a bowl next year at minimum. Not to mention he beat the dogshit out of Porter 9,000 to 0 with about the same talent. Freeze would be a home run hire, FACT.
Bingo. And Freeze has been a head coach. Porter still hasn't. Even after the Memphis gig, where he did an unconvincing impersonation of one.

Freeze is a joke. His claim to fame is letting academic casualty Michael Oher into Briarcrest, where he parlayed him into a job at Ole Miss. After getting run off with the rest of Coach Ogre's staff, he spent two years at NAIA school Lambuth and then spent one year coaching Steve Robert's players at ASU. He has not spent more than two years at a job since leaving Briarcrest. In other words, he hasn't been anywhere long enough to recruit and coach his own players.
Memphis only has 66 players on scholarship. People forget that. Freeze is completely UNPROVEN as a recruiter, and we desperately need an infusion of talented players in Memphis. He is the WORST candidate on the list, with the exception of Houston Nutt.
no way freeze go 9-2 walking into the same situation as porter. porter goes 9-2 or better at asu.

This is hilarious. Did you forget the beat down Freeze gave Porter earlier this season? Do you think stAte's talent is THAT much better?

yes .... well probably not If they would have switched squads it would have been 35-14 ASU --they had A LOT better talent than us this past year...
