If this is true, we are about to witness the last year of UAB football. Paul Bryant Jr will **** it down in one more season.

Jay Barker that bastion of factual information regarding UAB. He still thinks squeaky Johnson is our point guard and Alabama does not cheat.

He irritates me when rarely a caller calls in regarding UAB and as soon as the caller says what he says Jay immediately tries to blow them off. For example.

" I'm calling about UAB's big win over Southern Miss, you guys watch that big win?"

Jay's response "Yep, big win, alright time for break , see you on the other side".

Always... always.. shuts the UAB caller down and moves on back to Alabama or heck even to talk about Penn State.

And Tony Kurre needs to shut up also. Either be genuine about being a UAB fan and present informative information or shutup. He just mocks UAB. I know he goes to games and all. But when your on air, quit the childish nonsense of trying to sing the fight song and all. Not funny.

Exactly. That's why I have not listened in a long time but it sounds like nothing has changed. What's funny is they gauge their interest in UAB by the amount of calls they get not realizing THEY are the reason people do not call them to talk about UAB.

I literally cringed in my seat and had to turn the channel the day after beating southern miss this year when currie started singing the fight song WRONG and screwed up the words. GAWD, I was hoping a gnat flew down his throat and improved the sound.

He sings it on the radio as the designated "Blazer Fan". Gets the first two lines right, (maybe) and its all improvising and la la la after that.

He's a tool.

That's not what Barker said, and he certainly didn't say that he had chatted with PBJ. Tony Kurre got to talking about UAB's football program, the stadium issue, and the head coach position, and he asked Jay what he thought about CNC's future at UAB. Barker admitted he doesn't anything about it, but he made reference to comments made by PBJ in which PBJ said UAB fans should support their program and coach. Barker inferred from that statement that PBJ was saying we should support CNC because there's not going to be a coaching change. (I assume he was referring to PBJ's comments in this Birmingham News article.)

Barker's reference to PBJ's comments should be taken with a huge grain of salt because he was trying to speak off the cuff about something that he admitted he doesn't know anything about. (Note that PBJ's comments were made in the context of the stadium issue, not the head coach issue.) It was obvious that he doesn't know much about UAB's football program, but he probably felt obliged to reply to Kurre's question instead of just saying "beats me." I didn't take anything Barker said seriously. He only spoke for a couple sentences about the coaching issue and quickly changed the subject back to the Auburn/Alabama game.

Okay its time to flood his email with the words of the fight song

If he was truly interesting in the words of the fight song, he would google it.

Ignore that station. Sooner or later everyone else will as well.

There are better alternatives out there.

I know this isn't true, because it would require Jay to do some research on UAB, and we all know that wouldn't ever happen, especailly not during Ahrn Bowl Week!

Barker is a two-faced POS. He has allot of people in this community fooled.

Jay Barker knows less about what's going on than I do, and I'm just some shmoe on a message board.

At least I give a damn.
