Not exactly true. I know a lot of non-Big East people here want to believe that this is the case, but the Boise State people are generally either (1) happy about it or (2) realistic enough to know that this is their one shot at AQ status so they need to take it:

I've seen consternation from BYU people about joining the Big East. However, I haven't seen much of that at all from the Boise State people. They know better than anyone what it means to be AQ versus non-AQ.

Go to their boards and see for yourself, don't believe anyone else, take a peak and see

Boise St Prez Kustra told the BOE he was not at liberty to give the name of the institution who might replace West Virginia, but that he was VERY PLEASED with this potential addition.

Sounds like BYU could be in play.

With this approval, it might be enough to get some of the schools to fully sign on.

7th school invited won't be BYU. For them it's the Big 12 or bust. It wouldn't surprise me if the Big East wanted Hawaii. If you're travelling by plane anyway, might as well make it somewhere nice. Plus Hawaii already has a home for all their other sports so there's no worry about that.

It just seems to go against the whole reason they went indy in the first place, to become the LDS version of Notre Dame. If that's what they want, then they should put all their sports except for football in the Big East and continually push everyone around with their football independent-ness.

Fat chance of that happening. BE would not accept another ND deal LOL. BYU is no ND for the record.

Just look at BYU's November schedule and bowl tie-in to see why independence sucks. Notre Dame can still schedule quality teams in November, and can have 4 losses and still get a decent bowl.

Wow! Boise throws all other sports under the bus!?! I got news for all joining the NEW Big East the new television deal despite what the Big East Pres says, ain't going to be nearly has good as the old one. Who knows what the 2014 BCS deal will look like. Huge risk the annual revenue differnce is about $1.8million, year 1 would be break even for Boise and AFA with the loss of 2012 MWC revenue share. The Big East Buy in will likely take year 2 and 3 incremental revenue. So year 4 in the Big East before it becomes profitable by then the new BCS will be in effect. Good luck with that.
