Glad you said Sandy and not Mick.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, unless I actually think about it.

You don't like sticky fingers? One of my favorite albums - side II is awesome (sister morphine, moonlight mile, and dead flowers are all on that side). Plus Ry Cooder and memphis' own Jim Dickinson played on that album.

Sticky Fingers might be the most perfect rock album every recorded.

RE: Happy birthday Mick Jagger...
I'm just talking out of my ass. I've honestly never listened to Sticky Fingers. I've listened to the others listed within the past few days.

After reading a few glowing opinions, I'll listen to it today.

One final edit...I thought Sticky Fingers was one of their later albums...poor misguided me.

It's a good argument about which of their albums is best, but Sticky Fingers might be the most well rounded. Stunningly great stuff on every track. 'Dead Flowers' is the Stones at their nastiest best.

Isn't Sticky Fingers the first recording session that Bobby Keys played with the Stones? In my uneducated opinion, his sax changed the sound of the Stones.

I don't know, but that would make sense. The sax work is unbelievable throughout, even haunting in places.

BTW, great album. Not sure if I'd say "best", but we're splitting hairs between great albums.

I feel foolish for never giving that one a spin before today.

Yeah, best becomes very personal, what you like most and such. For example, Supertramp's "Child of Vision" has a special meaning for me because I used to play it at 130+ db late at night on dark highways to stay awake when I traveled for a living.

It's like picking the best beatles album. It depends on the day or week on what is the "best."

This week it's rubber soul; it will probably be abbey road or the white album next week.

If you have a streaming service, you should check out Eric Burdon and War, particularly 2 albums: "The Black Man's Burdon" and "Eric Burdon Declares War." The Black Man's Burdon has an awesome version of the Stones "Paint it Black."

I had a friend in high school who knew the lyrics - by heart - to every Rolling Stones song. She would often apply them to everyday life situations like some people do with Bible verses.

Burdon was great in his day, no question. I really liked 'War' even after he left them.
