Same here...plus I had planned on going to watch IU play Ball State in Indy at Lucas Oil on Saturday. My brother and best friend, both of whom are UC Football season ticket holders, are Ball State Alums. Looks like it will be the Bearcats vs AP instead...unless it times out right, then we'll pull double duty.

My guess would be that the game was either at noon or at 7:30/8 PM, as FSN will want to air the Reds-Cards game at 4 pm. Not sure if that helps your or not...

According to Matt Sarz on the Big East board, the reds-cards game at 4 is a Fox national window, not FSN.

Aah gotcha, MLB. Thanks for the info! So I guess they could air it anytime during the day.

RE: UC/AP game
Great job UC. Wonder if they will refund my tickets since we leave for vacation that Saturday morning.
Football schedule is announced, and then published. Season tickets must be paid for by April 22nd. Family vacation is then scheduled around UC games. And then on May 11 (after they have your money), UC announces a change. I'm sure that many others will have similar issues. Our athletic department continues to come up with new ways to disappoint fans. I have friends that are still waiting on their Oklahoma tickets. Not to mention the fiasco that was the now-defunct Bowl Credit program.
Not good PR for a program coming off a very disappointing 4-8 season.

RE: UC/AP game
I'm in the same boat. Already have something scheduled that weekend. We'll be missing that game now.
With Rag on this one. Bad move. Why go out of the way to make sure the least watchable game on the schedule will have ticket holders not be able to make it? Silly. They'll probably make it a noon kickoff too so the students will be dressed as empty seats.

RE: UC/AP game
UC should have covered themselves by leavign the date as TBA, 9/1 or 9/3, so season ticket holders would be aware that the date could change. I have mixed feelings about this. I prefer Saturday games but I hate the idea of changing the date for people that made labor day weekend plans already.
At least its the game against the FCS school we are talking about here. I considered these games a half-step up from the exhibition games the basketball teams play before the real deal starts.

That would have been the smart thing to do.
Just got off the phone with my friend who lives in Georgia. A UC season ticket holder that had already booked his flight up to watch the Reds-Phillies in the afternoon and then the Cats on Thursday night. Now he will have to pay all the airline change fees to make the game on Saturday.
Another fine job by the UC Athletic Department.

1-800-CATSTIX response:
UC's ticket office will refund the entire season ticket package but not individual games.
As an aside, they were very suprised to learn of this change and (privately) disappointed. Looks like it came from the top.

RE: UC/AP game
I have a feeling this was not UC's decision. Thursday games mean national TV on one of the ESPN networks and I have a feeling that got yanked out and I thought I had heard in the past you can only have a Thursday or Friday Big East game for TV purposes. So if ESPN wanted a different Thursday night game and bumped us, then the game must be moved back to the weekend.
Regardless this was bad form and makes the university look bad and will irritate and inconvenience fans. I was looking forward to the Thursday game, but what are you gonna do.

RE: UC/AP game
So I guess the Bengals are hosting Indy on Thursday night, Sep 1, and that prompted a change?

Bingo. So Mike Brown paid UC to move the game? And then UC decided to inconvenience their fan base for an exhibition game that may never happen.

I hope they didn't move this for the Bungles. Just another reason to root against anyone playing Brown's awful semi-pro team.

If they did it for the Bengals, its a bone bieing kicked back for the favorable terms UC got for the 2 games at PBS.

I doubt that is the reason. My guess is this one came down from somewhere above the athletic department.
