If you guys choose to believe what they are saying in our news media, that's fine. But that's hypocrisy, when the whole of America even acknowledges the falsehoods it can perpetuate at times.
Osama has been dead for what amounts to 5-8 years. PLUS, look, the media is reporting that our armed forces "buried his body at sea". Don't you think an image of his dead body from a week ago would suffice? They will not show Osama's dead body because of its decayed appearance.
And if they do provide an image, it will be from 6 years ago, when they actually killed him in Tora Bora, his suspected hideout in Afghanistan/Pakistan.
If he was killed during Bush's term do you really think that they wouldn't have already had this announcement back then? Dude if you're this into conspiracy theories and the ilk I have some very nice bridges to sell you in Brooklyn. Seriously. There's a reason 99% of the population believes the actual version of what happened and why we're all very happy right now because its what happened. The reason the wildest conspiracies like the one you mention aren't true is simple. Because humans are terrible at keeping their mouths shut and to orchestrate a conspiracy of that large a nature it would require a lot of people to be in on it and keep their mouths shut. Burial at sea is genius frankly so no one can make a shrine to the "martyr" or try to recover the body or something.
Wow.
This is not a conspiracy theory. I've had to keep my mouth shut about this until the press release, which took WAY too long. The President, CIA, and SOCOM are in control of this information, and the only reason this wasn't released back in 2006 was because of the necessity to keep bin Laden as a public enemy at-large to prolong our stay in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Still wondering why Pakistan has remained silent yet?
Burial at sea is to hide the fact that he's been dead for almost 6 years. Think it is a coincidence that his son's death has been announced along with his own death? Yeah...you don't need a ton of people to be in on a cover: all you need is the co-operation of the intelligence community. They are extremely capable. Trust me.

Of course Osama has been dead for 6-8 years....as the plot with Bush and Obama worked to perfection.

You diminish the bravery of Seal Team Six who went into Pakistan yesterday to nail this bastard.
We could have used other "justifications" to stay in Afghanistan. The Taliban, for one.
You seriously think that George Bush would not have trumpeted the news that his Administration got Osama after botching the Tora Bora situation in 2001?

Take your crap to the politics board. But stop raining on these folks parade in this thread.
I swear people who beleive in conspiracy theories need to actually think becore beleiving some things. Two questions:
1) Do you think there is any possible way a Republican Preisdent whose reputation was dying by the minute, would keep something like this under wraps, when it not only would have enhanced his legacy, but ensured his party won re-election in 2008
2) If this happened a long time ago, and the intellegience could be released at any time, why on Earth would it be released at 11:30 on a Sunday night, in the beginning of May, a year before election season?
Seriously, conspiracies are fun, but at least come up with a theory that contains some semblence of logic. It's as bad as the 9/11 conspiracy theorists who claim it was an inside job by the government and the President.

Sometimes I wish conspiracy theories like this were actually true, because that'd mean our country isn't being run by a bunch of incompetent blowhards. Unfortunately for me, and our country, those in power really aren't competent enough to pull something like this off and anyone who looks at the day to day business of the government knows this.
Let us not forget that American Military and our govenment worked directly with our terrorist enemies to squash any information of his demise 5-8 years ago, right??? Afterall, it's for political gain. It never could be leaked.
But, for **its and giggles, let's say it's true. Let us all bow down at the feet of TampaKnight. He knew first. Isn't that what his purpose is for this craziness? Y'all are soo behind. TampaKnight knew first. I am glad this great secret has been released to us "regular folks" so all the members of the Secret Society of TampaKnight Secrets and All Thing Secretive (The SSTKSATS) can sleep in peace tonight. That's what is important, especially to all of the families of the 9/11 bombings and soldiers who gave their lives fighting the battle on terrorism.
Now, the rest of us can enjoy this sense of accomplishment and celebrate as Americans today.

You know what, **** you.
I had friends with families who died that day, and had to share that pain with them. The point wasn't to say I knew something first, because everyone who was and had connections with the intelligence community knew this. Of course I wasn't the first to know.
How ******* dare you accuse me of not having compassion for my countrymen? It's people like you that make this country one more percentage point ignorant. Whether or not the public chooses to believe what I have said is up to you. To all of you, I'm just some crazy dude behind a keyboard typing nonsense. In the real world, which, oh by the way, I happen to be a part of, I happen to have those connections.
God Bless America, ditto from me. You need to get a ******* clue.
I thought Tampa was done with this thread but I guess not. Tampa, do you really think Bush would have left office with Bin Laden dead and not released the information, letting the next President take the credit for that? That alone dispel's your tin foil hat theories.

I apologize for raging, but knowing the things I know, and other people not knowing it is difficult, especially when it is something as doubtful to the average American as that.
I should be more understanding of that.
@CollegeCard: Amidst being accused of continuing a conflict where it was being aired that weapons were not found (Russian tech was found in central and northern Iraq, and promptly shipped back to Russia through Syria), I think revealing that to the public would have been a move of desperation to save the public view of him sending coalition forces to those countries. It was probably better at the time to allow the next president to decide on policy, as Bush's trust level wasn't exactly "up there".
From what I've been seeing, people are praising both presidents for this revelation.

I really just can't agree there. If we had killed Bin Laden in 2006 or 2007 we would have released it then. Of course Bush's approval ratings were low, and this wouldn't have solved his problems but would have helped his legacy. That's completely in addition to just wanting to release the news fairly soon after it occurred for the other benefits.
Not to mention that staging an event leading to his death 5 years later and all that would entail now with social media, leaks etc, would be a lot of fun to try and pull off.

I have a source with top secret clearance. Convenient, right? Well, that source was actively involved with intelligence operations during Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom.
